A civil case brought by a former director of the Collier County Extension Service against the University of Florida is headed to trial.
A U.S. District Court judge in Fort Myers has denied the universitys motion for summary judgment, saying theres enough evidence for the case to move ahead.
Denise Blanton has sued the university, saying she was unjustly reprimanded and then terminated as a senior extension agent after filing a race and gender complaint with the Equal Opportunity Commission.
Judge Paul Magnuson ruled against the universitys motion on Feb. 27...
