What a gross mis-interpretation of the data. I would have titled the article, "Immigrants DISPLACE Big-City Populations"! If the illegals hadn't moved in just think about all the people that wouldn't have had to move out of those cities.

Or the headline could be “Big liberal cities pushing out native American workers and producers for immigrants that need government assistance...all for votes!”

Sponsored by the police unions looking for more police to handle the massive increase in crime in these areas I suppose.

This article is a bunch of rambling,pro-illegals, double speak. Just what does the author mean by “stabilize.”

“Without immigrants pouring into the nation’s big metro areas, places such as New York, Los Angeles and Boston would be losing population.”.

Sure move in, crank out the puppies and get the Fed “freebies”.

Why not, it makes perfect sense.

Stabilize = keep the welfare rolls full and / or expanding. That way more libs can be employed in government / social services.

Or maybe Mr. Mather should have concluded, “Illegal immigrants invading big cities are making domestic migrants of US citizens who are forced to seek opportunities in other places.”

More Americans killed by illegal aliens than Iraq war, study says

When you start digging into the numbers the only ones that can be sourced with the feds are the number of American murdered in 2005: 16692
I have seen federal numbers for illegals held in jail ranging from 19.3% to 27% of the federal prison population.d

Here's a sampling of USA cities wanted for murder. What you'll see is that in big USA cities like LA or NYC most of the murderers are Hispanic. Unknown are the % of illegals. In smaller cities about 25% of the most wanted are illegals wanted for murder. This number agrees with the percentage of illegals incarcerated in federal prisons. +-25%

Chicago wanted for Murder

New Orleans wanted for Murder

FBI USA 10 most wanted. (two of 10 are Mexican nationals)

Is this todays’ government-mandated media talking point?? Why are there four or five articles today crowing about how great it is that immigrants are displacing natives from cities; or how great it is that we can count on immigrants to provide the growth we so deperately need in the populations of our cities?

Enquiring minds have probably already given up wondering about it.

“”Immigrants are filling the void as domestic migrants are seeking opportunities in other places,””

Actually “domestic migrants” are trying to get away from the crime and filth associated with these “stabilizing immigrants.” They don’t want to live in third world barrios where English is the fifth language and goons like MS-13 have the run of things.

Youse is both wrong....at least as far as NYC is concerned.

NYC has always been a city where newcomers stay two generations then move out to quieter corners. Neighborhoods that were German or Irish or Jewish or Italian or Scandinavian fifty years ago now show only scattered remnants of those groups as their kids and grandkids all left. Now the newer groups (Indians, Asians, Dominicans) are moving out too, making room for the new newcomers.

It's an old story.

Just how many of these "older" immigrants were illegal, how many went right on welfare and how many wanted nothing to do with becoming American?

The title should be “Illegal Aliens fill the deep Blue urban voting block that has been deflating due to Blue policies.”

Some cities (Philadelphia, Detroit for example) are still losing population in spite of the immigrants. It’s about socialist hellholes being completely unlivable.
