BRAINLESS HYPOCRITES WIN AGAIN
New York Post ^ | April 13, 2007 | Phil Mushnick

April 13, 2007 -- HEY, as long as we're at it, why not make every second week of April National Hypocrites Week? Yeah, a week in salute to those who teach us that identifying the difference between wrong and right should only be a matter of timing.

MSNBC on Wednesday fired Don Imus. That clearly indicates that on the day in 1996 when MSNBC hired him, its decision-makers had absolutely no idea what his show was about. I did. You did. But MSNBC didn't? MSNBC attached its name and financing to a five-day-a-week program that its execs had never before heard? Fascinating.

MSNBC didn't know that when Imus finishes playing cleaned-up patty-cake with media and political bigwigs, his show returns to "Dig Through the Dumpster with Don"? How odd. Everyone else, including his big-shot guests, knew for years.

Same with the advertisers who jumped Imus' barge the day before he was sacked. All that time they pumped millions into his show they had no clue? They got blind-sided? Remarkable.

And today, possibly to deflect attention and shift blame, MSNBC has decided to go after (they mentioned by name): Limbaugh, O’Reilly, Beck, Savage, and Coulter. No mention of Olbermann though.

I love how the left doesn't even notice that Jackson and Sharpton have created themselves a free pass for their Duke Lax comments by going after Imus for saying 3 words.

Brilliant!!!!!!!

If only Don had thought a little faster, he could have deflected all this: "...nappy-headed ho's, or whatever-the-hell rappers are calling their women this week."

There is a local talk show host named Jay Severin. Not someone with whom I agree on every topic but he said yesterday of Olbermann “He is a dangerous figure who is trying to stifle free speech. He is Pol Pot. He is a fascist.” That is powerful. He also said of Jackson and Sharpton that they are both “too stupid to be fascists.”

When it comes to brainless hypocrites, no discussion would be complete without mention of Katie Couric, “the affable Eva Braun of talk television” as Ann Coulter so accurately pegged her.

Darling Katie has her “diary” ghost-written, then gets the writer fired when HE plagiarizes someone else’s work.

That pretty well takes the Grand Hypocrisy Prize in my book.

How can the employee revolt be named as the reason for firing Imus and these pantywaists keep their jobs? Is it the Peoples Republic of NBC?

I’m afraid we’re going to see one heck of an overreaction from MSNBC. They screwed this one up, so watch them try to become the self-proclaimed “guardian” of race releations in the future.

"olbermann"

I heard this grinning hyena talking to some media flack yesterday about the Imus incident. Olbermann eagerly asked the flack if it wasn't time that "we" got rid of all "hate-speech" makers. And the the Little O rattled off the names of about five or six talk-show hosts. All conservatives including Rush Limbaugh. If a person could reach through their tv screen, I would have loved to get my hands around the neck of this penny-ante fascist.

Let them go after Rush. They’ve been trying for decades. He doesn’t depend on them for anything.
