Marine panel recommends less-severe discharge for corporal (wimp gets off easy)

three-member board of the Marine Corps Mobilization Command has recommended an immediate discharge under general conditions for Cpl. Adam Kokesh.

The recommendation is less severe than the “other than honorable” discharge sought by Corps officials against Kokesh, who was accused of disrespecting an officer and wearing a uniform to an Iraq War protest.

The recommendation now goes to the commanding general of the command for a final decision, expected within the next two weeks.

Frankly I think he got way to light but at least or I should say perhaps others will learn you do not disobay the UCMJ.

“dishonorable?”

Oh do I wish that was the case. He got a general which is not as bad but it sure would have been nice if he had gotten a dishonorable.

“perhaps others will learn you do not disobey the UCMJ.”

More likely, in 30 years he will be a Senator from Mass. running for President as a “War Hero.”

What crap. My son is doing everything he can to meet the requirements to make corporal. If they told him to stand on his head in his dress blues, he’d do it. He isn’t whining, bitc#ing, and complaining. He knows why he’s there and who signed on the dotted line to get him there. This POS has the frigging two stripes and he’s a @unt.

There was a time when just looking at an officer with “Silent Contempt” was enough to get you stripped of your rank and thrown in the brig (Red Line one each), and actually cursing at one would get you an extended stay along with a possible BCD assuming you failed to realize the error of your ways.

The Olde Corps is grimacing over the fate of this shitbird (actual Marine terminology) and wonder why he is being allowed to get away with such crimes against the Order and Discipline that has made the Marine Corps what it is today.

I wonder if the thought came to mind in this Marine’s mind that he was in essence giving aid to the enemy during a time of war.

I called the Associated Press and the Washington Post National Desk with the inside story. Neither included the information because it would ruin the "media template" they want.

Kokesh was busted to Corporal for bringing a Saturday Night Special from an Iraqi policeman. No a war trophy, just a Saturday Night Special. Note that after Virginia tech, the media is in love with this "George Washington University graduate student" who but for an NCO catching him with contraband, would have been just like Cho, on campus with a gun.

See http://www.ivaw.org/node/787/

Kokesh used his military ID last month to gain access to an Army post in Germany where units are readlying for an Iraq deployment. He and two other Vietnam Veterans Against The War re-enactors went to the Dining Facility where he read an statement calling for the troops to desert while the other two handed out anti-war literature. At the bottom of the page linked above is a YouTube video of it.

When ordered to stop while leaving the post, they refused that order.

What Kokesh did is known as subversion. The Marines should have put him in the brig for that.

Also....Kokesh wanted to go back for a second tour, and would have but for his Saturday Night Special. So is he anti-war or just vendictive for being thrown out of the Marines and unable to find work in DC.

The media has not checked his claim to be a GWU grad student. I suspect that's BS.

Yes, there is such a thing as an ex-Marine.

This guy’s one — Murtha’s another.

I watched the YouTube video of this traitor fool. The soldiers in the room exercised great restraint, ignoring him and walking past him with their food trays as if he wasn't even there.

Too bad the media you contacted could not be bothered to follow up and flesh out the story. Oh, wait! That information would make Kokesh look like a bad seed instead of a "patriotic dissenter."
