The correct response to this sillyness would be for Jews and Gentiles alike to also avail themselves of these footbaths whenever they felt like it.
If there is no outcry from the Muslims, then fair cop, it’s an acceptable spend for non-religious purposes.
They never had footbaths when I was going thru college: it might have been nice to have a good ol’ soak in Epsom Salts and Tiger Balm Ointment whilst cramming for Economics...

EEEWWWW! Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t want to wash my feet where a zillion other people wash THEIR feet. Or accidentally mistake the foot washing thing for a low urinal. Or a spitoon.
This would be a nice place to place “SECRET CAMERAS & RECORDING DEVICES”
If it looks like a urinal then I’ll be using it like one.
I was once at a cocktail party with the Superintendent of the Oakland Public School District who had just returned from Paris. He was amazed that bathrooms in France had these drinking fountains so close to the floor.
I had to excuse myself since he was a major client at the time and didn’t want to burst out laughing in front of him...

Given that the ACLU has fought every religious accomodation by public institutions for the last fifty years their take on this is a laugher.
What’s different about accomodations for Muslims? When Muslims don’t get their way they tend to plant bombs.
