I believe they also had war gases prepared to use on our invasion forces. The civilian casualties from that alone would have been very high.
...you mean "Bugout Doug", don't you?
Come now. Only the United States must always apologize for every action it ever took. Hadn’t you learned that from your US public school?
Ozzy Osbourne put it best:
Like moths to a flame
Is man never gonna change
Time’s seen untold aggression
And infliction of pain
If that’s the only thing that’s stopping war
Then thank god for the bomb
Thank god for the bomb
Thank god for the bomb
Thank god for the bomb
Nuke ya nuke ya
War is just another game
Tailor made for the insane
But make a threat of their annihilation
And nobody wants to play
If that’s the only thing that keeps the peace
Then thank god for the bomb
Thank god for the bomb
Thank god for the bomb
Thank god for the bomb
Nuke ya nuke ya
Today was tomorrow yesterday
It’s funny how the time can slip away
The face of the doomsday clock
Has launched a thousand wars
As we near the final hour
Time is the only foe we have
When war is obsolete
I’ll thank god for the war’s defeat
But any talk about hell freezing over
Is all said with tongue in cheek
Until the day the war drums beat no more
Then thank god for the bomb
Thank god for the bomb
Thank god for the bomb
Thank god for the bomb
Nuke ya nuke ya
Do you suppose the WWII-era Japanese newspapers published a lot of hand-wringing articles worrying over “why the Americans hate us”?
“President Truman rightly decided that it was better that one hundred thousand Japanese die than one more American Sailor, Soldier, or Marine.”
And THIS is the essential question any time this question of war comes up: WHO IS BETTER? WHO DESERVES BETTER TO LIVE?
All the PC nail-biters are too afraid to even ask this question much less answer it.
I shudder to think how things had been if today’s media was around during WWII.
ROFLMAO
You're right...but I don't have to like it...
I never thought of it that way, but yes, they're playing the victim game.
Here, here!
Outstanding!

I wonder if the esteemed mayor remembered the rape of Nanking or Japanese atrocities at Unit 731

Karma is a b*tch.
“Japan marked the 62nd anniversary of Hiroshima’s atomic bombing with a solemn ceremony on Monday as the city’s mayor criticized the United States for refusing to give up its nuclear weapons program.”
I guess we should have invaded Japan instead and killed all of them instead of just 100+ thousand of them.
“HELL YES! Japan hasnt been a problem to anyone in over 60 years. Do you think this might work on Islam is we dropped one on Mecca?”
Why stop at Mecca?
I know a few other deserving Islamic locations that should glow in the dark.
Gosh, for years we've been telling Russia, North Korea, Iran, Iraq, and other countries to not develop nuclear weapons, or to destroy the ones they have, and they just won't listen to us. I guess that makes it our fault.
The Atomic Bomb - Made in America - tested in Japan.
An actual T-shirt worn by a Honda employee (now former) here in Ohio. This happened at a friend of mines work at Honda back in the 1980s and I still laugh about it.
It was a plague bomb developed by their “special research” groups. The method of delivery was either a long range bomber( 8 engine) or possibly balloon. The Japanese aeronautical engineering industry was surprisingly developed but was held back from deployment by the lack of resources and industrial base.
