“”Who wants to elect a man who isn’t even sure he wants to BE president?””

So we should elect the one person who desires that position the most?

Time for the 3rd Clinton inauguration, then.

Well, the Texas Straw Poll is in and Duncan Hunter took the honors. Of course, everyone who voted had to have special credentials, and no busloads were allowed. This is Rep. Hunter’s third win, having come in second in California because your man was also included there.

...once the American people truly get to know Fred Thompson, they will be quite impressed with his life story and his intellect and his passion, and his seriousness for solving some of the big problems.

Fred's life story.

There is nothing particulary compelling about Fred's life story.

Intellect.

Fred is certainly intelligent, but he towers over the other candidates in height, not intellect.

Passion

Fred's strength is being folksy, and his gravitas, not passion.

Seriousness for solving some of the big problems...

Fred's big problem right now is lack of fundraising and organization. It is difficult to conceive Fred as a serious problem solver, when he hasn't begun to solve his campaign's problems.

I sincerely believe Fred Thompson would lose a general election against the democrats.

Why? Do you think the American people also believe that radical Islam is only a bumper sticker slogan? Do you beleive that they want their taxes raised so we are thrown into a recession with resulting loss of jobs?

Do you think the American people want even more open and porous borders with no chance of curbing illegal immigration? Do you believe the American people like paying outrageous price for our energy because the wacko Democrats pretend they care more about a caribou than their country?

I can't think of one reason why any sane person would vote for a Democrat.

How about all this campaign corruption? Democrats are corrupt and rotten to the core.

Thanks for the confirmation, LS. I guess no matter how shady politics seem today, we’re probably better off WITHOUT the involvement of organized crime (though, the cynic might suggest that party politics today IS organized crime.)

I agree with your sentiment.

But, what I think is Hillary Clinton will be the 'rat nominee. And what history tells us is America voted for her husband, the democrat, twice. It's very possible Americans would vote for her as well.

In my opinion, Mr. Thompson is NOT the man who can win against Ms. Rodham. JMHO.
