The Money and Connections Behind Al Gore’s Carbon Crusade
Human Events ^ | October 3, 2007 | Deborah Corey Barnes

Posted on 10/09/2007 4:02:32 PM PDT by vadum

Al Gore’s campaign against global warming is shifting into high gear...But while the mainstream media promote his ideas about the state of planet Earth, they are mostly silent about the dramatic impact his economic proposals would have on America...and routinely ignore evidence that he may personally benefit from his programs. Would the romance fizzle if Gore’s followers realized how much their man stands to gain?......

Never mind that the scientific community is divided over what causes global warming, how bad it is and how to deal with it. Gore plays Chicken Little to the media’s applause, insisting that the world is warming dangerously and that he has the solution......

To resolve the “climate crisis,” Gore...calls for an immediate freeze on U.S. emissions, a ban on new coal-fired power plants, tough new fuel-economy and energy-efficiency standards, renewable energy mandates, carbon taxes and mandatory targets and timetables for reducing greenhouse-gas emissions. Those emissions consist mostly of carbon dioxide, the byproduct of fossil fuels such as oil, coal and natural gas, which supply 85% of all U.S. energy......

Al Gore is chairman and founder of a private equity firm called Generation Investment Management (GIM). According to Gore, the London-based firm invests money from institutions and wealthy investors in companies that are going green. “Generation Investment Management, purchases -- but isn’t a provider of -- carbon dioxide offsets,” said spokesman Richard Campbell in a March 7 report by CNSNews.

GIM appears to have considerable influence over the major carbon-credit trading firms that currently exist: the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX) in the U.S. and the Carbon Neutral Company (CNC) in Great Britain. CCX is the only firm in the U.S. that claims to trade carbon credits......

Only liberals are dumb enough to fall for this scam.

But it feels good...

"Forgive me, Earth Father, for I have polluted."

"What was the manner of your pollution?"

"I have emitted too much greenhouse gas."

"Purchase three carbon offsets, my son."

"Thank you, Earth Father, I feel cleansed."

Recall how Dan Quayle endured endless ridicule for misspelling “potato.”

Quayle should have claimed both to invent the internet and be the actual male interest in “Love Story.” Had he done like algore, he would have been taken seriously.

As I’ve said many times........follow the money. Al Gore wouldn’t be doing this if he wasn’t going to make millions. The same goes for all the other companies involved.

Here’s the issue I have with carbon dioxide man. What “other” trace elements are they finding along with CO2 in their core samples: Lead? Additives Gore and Clinton mandated? I’m an engineer, specializing in machine design, but any guy with half a brain ought to figure this stuff out.

When I served in the Navy - non combatant - peace time military, we found Volcanic ash from Pinotubo on the ice cap just like somebody had sprinkled pepper on mashed potatoes.

The liberals want to drop issues like parametrics (object movement via algebraic algorithm - see Chandler’s “wobble”) If they so choose to disbeleive chandler, why are they using computers to post their models, since it was Chandler, under Max Plank’s tuteledge who developed the theory of “i.” In mathematics the square root of negative i (-i) equals -1.

So, Mr. Carbon Dioxide Man, do the math - I want to see it, and by the way i^4 or i to the 4th power equals 1.

As per trace elements, using an infrared photospectrometer - more military training with O2/N2 work - we should see particulate contamination of trace elements other than CO2 - which is very abundant on this planet or plants would not grow - Mr. Carbon Dioxide man needs to defer to Photosysnthesis, I know it is a long word, but he chose to use carbon dioxide, which is two words to my one - infrared photospectrometers read to the .5 parts per million.

Let’s see those trace elements Al, I know you are just busting out with your Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) to those military guys trained in manned QA systems.

Al, you got the proof, I’ll donate the time and the equipment to shoot you down in flames.

No. As long as the scam promotes fascism and the destruction of America and individual liberty, the lemming useful idiots will cheer it on. Only if a personal consequence exists will the cheering mobs for fuhrer Gore stop.

In an easy way to explain it, lets say I have a car that can’t pass the smog test here in California. So instead of fixing it, I go to algore and buy some carbon offsets because the offsets are cheaper than fixing my car. Then I go to the smog station and show them the carbon offsets I bought. Then they have to pass my car no matter how much it smokes. So I pull out of the smog station, my car in a cloud of smoke, but I got my registration for another year. Everyone is happy and algore is richer.

So he'll be in the business of buying and selling hypothetical "points"? Like if some factory shows proof that they've lowered their carbon emissions, points go into the system and he can then sell those points?

That is the most amazing scam I've ever heard of. That's like name-a-star or buy-land-on-the-moon.

Right on. Al is a sham who, like all liberals, can only appeal to the uneducated, or ignorant, or equally scammy as Al and his Clinton heritage. Maybe a combination of all of the above. We will see more of this “synthesized leftist crisis hysteria” as time progresses, which will be inversely proportional to the uselfullness and importance of the criminal, reprobate, carpetbagging left.

It will be fun to watch. There never will be any PROOF that Flim-Flam-Al’s assertion that MAN is causing global warming...only much evidence that he has not, and is not. Some basic classes in earth science, and yes, as you point out, some biology, would help Al and his kool-aid-drinking liberal followers see the light and find something honest and credible to do with their time, such as finding a real, legitimate job to earn their money, instead of conning it out of the tax-payers to “fix” a world threatening crisis of their making.....

Clinton and Gore proposed a carbon tax when they first took office. Guess they are going the route - that if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.

Wish they hadn’t tainted a quality cliche.

***But the President is unwilling to call for mandatory nationwide emissions rules and instead favors voluntary carbon-emission cuts in the private sector. This is deeply frustrating to all the brokers, wheeler-dealers and interest groups that want to jump on the cap-and-trade bandwagon. There are billions of dollars to be made in trading emissions credits. But first the federal government must force everyone to play the game.

EMPHASIS MINE.

I am going to sell water credits. Send $100 to me and I shall use my backyard instead of my toilet for the “call of nature.”
