I live at FR! I was hoping to expand my world a tiny bit.

I practically live at FR also. Why chase the world when it is delivered to you on a silver platter?

I still check out the online version of the newspaper from the area I grew up in (Durango, CO), but mostly it's just to check the obituaries and see who I know who passed away (morbid, huh?).

The alpacas are amazing. If you're interested, you can go to my profile and you will see a web address for our farm. I recently posted some great pictures of the two new crias (baby alpacas) that were born here this fall (on our New Additions page). We're getting ready to take two of our yearling males to a show in Topeka, KS next weekend and are pretty excited as this will be our first try at showing any of our stock.

How do crias taste? Not like creosote, I hope.

I check out papers across the country, especially when a trip looms to either coast.

Locally, I check the Dallas Morning news and the Star Telegram, along with the Dallas Observer. Gotta keep tabs on city hall through the lefty viewpoint.

Still, FR is where I get most of my info, from sources I would otherwise never see.

They're so cute! What are their personalities like?

Since we're sooo off-topic, I just read an amusing/harrowing* dog/owner story today, What happens when you follow a dog ball right over the cliff?

*amusing and harrowing at the same time!

Their personalities are amazing. They are gentle, intelligent, and very curious. We have one female who loves to chase the few chickens we have running loose, and if one of the cats comes by they all want to come over and see it.

No matter what I'm doing out in the field, or by the barns, they have to come up and check it out. Sometimes I just go out into the pasture with them and sit down for a half hour or so and watch them. It is very calming and a great way to wind down after a stressful day at work. Our youngest cria (Carmina) has been especially friendly the last few days and she is just cute beyond words.

I read the online version of my local McClatchy rag to get the local news and maybe throw a bomb or two in the comments section to spin up the flaming lefties that habituate the place. I don’t even bother with their coverage of national or international news though. For that there’s nothing that beats FR.
