McCain's Champaign soliciting for funds

I recived an email from John McCain's fundraisers today, here is the message and response from me.

Dear Friend,
Last night, we did it. We won the Republican nomination for President. It was a long, up and down journey, but we worked hard, spoke honestly to the American people, and our steadfast determination has paid off. As we come to the end of our party's primary contest, we begin what will certainly be a spirited and hard-fought campaign against the Democratic nominee. In November, Americans will have a clear choice to make. And I intend to fight as hard as I can to make it very clear that I am the candidate with the experience and leadership to serve as our commander in chief from day one. My friends, I write to you today because I know we have a great challenge ahead of us. This campaign will be more expensive than any other in our history and I ask you today to support my campaign by making a generous contribution of $50, $100, $250, $500 or $1,000. As president, I intend to reduce the size of the federal government, reduce your tax burden and win the war against Islamic extremists. My Democratic opponents will increase the size of the federal government, raise your taxes and withdraw our troops from the front lines based on an arbitrary timeline.
I have said before that this election will be about big things, not small things. And as president, I will make the hard but necessary decisions to lead our country in solving our greatest challenges. Today, we must unite as we face either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama in November. I ask that you join me today and make a financial commitment to help our campaign replenish our resources.
I thank you for your support and look forward to the campaign that lies ahead of us. Sincerely,

John McCain P.S. My friends, now that I have secured enough delegates to be the Republican nominee for president, I ask that you support my campaign by making a contribution right away to replenish our campaign funds. As we end our primary contest and begin what will be a competitive general election against the Democratic nominee, I stand ready to lead our nation as we face great challenges, and it is my hope that you will join my campaign today. Thank you.

John McCain.

My Response:

Dear Whomever, John will have to prove himself when/if he get's elected.
Until that point he may get my vote but as a conservative he needs to convey a that message to convince his base and myself.

In the past he has shown many attributes that indicate Mr. McCain is not conservative.

The jury is out, no matter how heinous the alternatives I will withhold my support for him.

Until Mr. McCain convinces me otherwise I will be sitting on the side

As a member of the Republican party since I was able to vote (1978) and active in the conservative movement (for many years) you need to think about it what this means to the Party and Mr. NcCain.

Member of FReerepublic since 1998.

my response to his plea was..

Sir,
I am a conservative, I do not view you as a person that represents any of my values. I
would not support you nor vote for you if you were competing against satan himself. I
will do my best to support conservative congressional candidates in order to mitigate the
damages you or your political twins, Senators Obama and Cinton, will inflict upon us.
You have unmitigated gall, you thumb your nose at and insult the conservative base of this
party for years and come asking for money to elect you; I think not! I have expressed
this concern to the aberrant chairman of the republican party, my only true hope is that
you somehow lose at the convention.
Further I will not support this poor excuse for a political party, a party consisting of
people willing to sell their values in order to placate those that would harm this
country.
I have been as polite as I know how to be, do not ever e-mail me, snail mail me, call me
or contact me ever again asking for any type of support from me.

Very Truly Yours,
William L. Gunn Jr

In other words, you want the Dems to have control over all three branches of gov’t and have a veto proof majority so they can swiftly convert the USA into another European socialist hell ! Good strategy .

...he may get my vote but as a conservative...

My feelings exactly. He may end up getting my vote but he won't get a penny (nor active campaigning) from me.

Good for the both of you! My letter was similar to yours. I told him in lieu of donating to a presidential campaign this year, I would divide what I would have donated amongst conservatives running for the Senate and the House.

Someone should point out that it’s not as though McCain had spend a bunch of money given how he had free advertising in the media for weeks.

He’ll also have access to the deep pockets of the RNC. Make them spend their money on their loser.

I am with you. mccain doesn’t give a tinkers about conservatives. He is planning on winning with indys and those conservatives who are willing to “vote for the lesser”. I don’t think he will do a thing to draw us in.

By continuing down a longer road toward socialism, we are still advancing toward socialism. We must tread back the way we came, in other words at some point if we do not turn around, then we continue going the same way. I have been down this road to long and I’m turning around today.
I will vote and give money to conservatives in all races, I will write in a conservative for president. I will not vote for Senator Mccain; I respect your reasoning for doing so and if you feel you are doing what is best for your country then God’s speed.

Fair enough. Then they can fund him.

He apparently was given the Republican Party e-mail list recently. I got a somewhat different one today and used it and the 2 I received from the Republican Party on his behalf, to remove myself from both e-mail lists. I will neither work nor vote for McCain. If he pushes it, I might very well work against him.

I like your response better, since it mirrors my own feelings.

In other words, not one damn dime and no vote.

Dear Juan,

To quote—errrr—you, “Money corrupts.”

Therefore, I will help you out by not responding favorably to your request.
Just think how much easier your life would have been had Charles Keating
done the same thing!

Buenos dias.

What does he mean “WE”?

Does he think I’m part of his team?

Not gonna happen!
