TAMPA, Fla. -- Deborah Jean Palfrey, the woman known as the "D.C. Madam," apologized to her mother and sister in suicide notes, saying she couldn't bear going to prison and saw killing herself as the only "exit strategy."

Palfrey, convicted last month of running an elite Washington prostitution ring, wrote to her mother that she could not "live the next 6-8 years behind bars for what you and I have come to regard as this 'modern day lynching,' only to come out of prison in my late '50s a broken, penniless and very much alone woman."

The notes were released by police Monday.

"......and saw killing herself as the only "exit strategy."

And the entrance right outside that exit is one straight to hell.

She believes that she and Dad will be waiting around for Mom. This means that she believes in life after death.
That is the problem with these new fangled new age religions..no consequences.

Has anyone else read the notes? They are dated 4-25. She died on “Mayday!” Anyone else notice anything odd? the “surprise” for mom in the Bank of America? If this was a “modern day lynching” and she really had the information she had, couldn’t she have ended it by coming clean with the public (whose outrage would then have been aimed in a different direction? I found the notes to have an almost-dictated quality (”exit strategy” is SO DC!!) Something doesn’t add up, besides the fact that she didn’t believe in hell or purgatory for sinners or suicides. Of course, if you know you are being murdered for convenience of others, you may not feel yourself to be the biggest sinner around...

they look pretty convincing.
Hung herself to demonstrate the ‘lynching’ she felt was happening to her.

Your probably right about this not looking like a suicide, on the other hand there are some in the Christian culture that don't believe in Hell like the main stream Christianity does or in purgatory. You can still be an outstanding citizen and not believe in hell (like the rest of the Christians)and still be a Christian. Salvation is by grace not theology. Don't get me wrong though, I'm not going to go so far as to call this gal a Christian, but I'll let God be the judge there.

At least we can all feel good about our government, doing it’s best to eliminate the selling of consensual adult relations for money. I’m sure everyone here agrees that stamping out prostitution is worth destroying the offending women and driving them to suicide. We are stamping out prostitution, aren’t we?

Nope. Her clients have already found replacements for her. In Sweden, they prosecute the Johns not the prostitutes. I doubt that will eliminate prostitution either, but at least it doesn't victimize women like Washington DC does. Our government is anti female.

Well, we have a Gynocracy in the family courts, so turnabout is fair play.

In a civilized society, it would be legalized, but the lesbo feminists and the self-righteous moralists won't allow it.
