Operation Chaos, Phase II: We must encourage Hillary to run as an Independent.
Wasn’t Precious the name of the dog in Silence of the Lambs?
It was also the name Smeagol gave to the one ring, in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
I wonder if Billary are so p*****ed off that they might think they don’t need the Democrat party, they can run on their own.
We’ll see. This campaign has really exposed feelings about the Clintons. This campaign has shown that the Clintons are not loved by big numbers of Democrats. When she was “inevitable”, people supported her because they expected she would be the nominee, and that nobody else would come along to change that.
I think a big part of the vote for Obama has been the ABC (Anybody But Clinton) vote among Democrat primary voters. When he emerged as the prime threat to Hillary, his support grew steadily.
Whereas some of those “hard working white voters” voted for Hillary ONLY because she was the last man standing against Obama, not because they just love Hillary that much.
Vote Obama > No matter who gets elected 2009 and 2010 are going to be a disaster given the expected majorities the Dems will have in both houses. With McCain as President the Democrats with help from their media friends will be able to still blame Republicans as the liberal policies fail. With Obama the failure will hopfully result in the road back for Republicans.
Clinton vs. DNC
Popcorn ‘n adult beverages a’plenty!
I wish.
He's going to be Jimmy Carter part 2.
“With Obama the failure will hopfully result in the road back for Republicans.”
This is wrongheaded, defeatist thinking. First of all, we the people literally can’t afford an Obama presidency. His economic policies are ridiculous, and coupled with the global warming agenda spell disaster on their own. Then there are the foreign and defense policy issues. Again, unacceptable and very possibly disastrous. Finally, don’t forget about the Supreme Court. The next President may nominate as many as three justices over the next four years.
Barack Hussein Obama must not be President, ever!
McCain ‘08! HE SUCKS LESS!
Yup...
Essayons.
It raises an interesting question: If Clinton makes an independent run for the White House, does that mean she's renouncing her Democrat party affiliation and becomes and Independent Senator (like Sanders and Lieberman), caucusing with the Democrats?
I can't see how she remains a Democrat Senator while opposing the Democrat candidate for President.

If it weren’t for supreme court nominees, I might agree with you, but the thought of Clinton or Obama replacing Stevens, Ginsburg and probably someone else with uber-liberals and having them serve on the bench for the next 30 years is enough to make me vote for McCain. Given the state of the senate, it’s unlikely that McCain will be able to get another Thomas or Scalia through confirmation, but even a Kennedy beats the hell out of a Stevens.
Yes, Hillary should run as an independent. McCain, too. Then maybe a conservative will show up to lead the Republicans.
Strange as it may seem, I’ve never heard that suggested before. It’s brilliant!
$20 says that right now MacCain's team is making overtures to Hillzilla.
"If McCain is elected president, we'll have a four-year disaster, with the Republicans in Congress co-opted by "our" president, followed by 30 years of Democratic rule."
I think the same argument applies to Obamessiah as well, but I'm not convinced that Republicans will oppose him quite as ferociously.
The down-ballot races will be more important than ever before, that is certain.
“McCain 08! HE SUCKS LESS!”
Gee, what a wonderful recommendation...
