The main originator of foul mouth media. First profanity, then obscenity now anything at all. RIP

I mostly disagree with Carlin politically, but he had an absolutely hilarious bit about bicyclists!

Hint: he didn’t like them.

(Cyclists, don’t flame me! I’m just the messenger, and I can’t help it if the bit was funny! ;-))

Don't know about you but I like having a fourth thread on George.

Rest in peace George Carlin.

From the deep recesses of my brain, came the voice of George Carlin, “Wonderful WINO...”

RIP George. You gave me many major league laughs. Unfortunately, that was many years ago. I don’t know what morphed you into the always furious foul mouth you became. Again, RIP.

Carlin had a quick mind coupled with a deep insecurity brought on by his father's abandoning of his mother and him when he was a small boy.

This insecurity obviously led him to seek any kind of attention he could, even if it was negative attention or - worse - positive reinforcement of his worst behavior by adoring fans.

The main originator of foul mouth media.

It's hard to say who was, but it is certain that Carlin wasn't.

Lenny Bruce would be a strong favorite - he was "working blue" in 1954, and gave a scandalous performance at Carnegie Hall in 1961.

George Carlin was clean enough for Johnny Carson appearances in 1966 - he did not become controversial until the 1972 recording/performances of "Seven Words You Can't Say On TV."

Carlin was a troubled man: I hope beyond hope that he was able to find some peace.

Like all of us, he had his moments of genius, moments of stupidity. He gave me smiles, he gave me scowls.

Rest in peace, George.

George Carlin was a brilliant comedian for many years.
Yet as he got older he seemed to me to become less funny
and much more cynical and bitter. RIP George.
