Execution prompts concern for detained Mexicans By JORGE VARGAS, Associated Press Writer 14 minutes ago NUEVO LAREDO, Mexico - Mexico is protesting the execution of one of its citizens in Texas despite a world court ruling for a new hearing, expressing concern for the rights of other Mexicans detained in the United States. Mexico's Foreign Relations Department said it sent a note of protest to the State Department about Jose Medellin's case, which drew international attention because of allegations that Medellin wasn't allowed to consult the Mexican consulate for legal help following his arrest. Texas executed Medellin, 33, late Tuesday for the 1993 rape and killing of two teenage girls in Houston. Medellin was convicted of participating in the gang rape, beating and strangling of Elizabeth Pena, 16, and Jennifer Ertman, 14. Prosecutors said he and five fellow gang members attacked the girls as they were walking home on a June night, raped and tortured them for an hour, then kicked and stomped them before using a belt and shoelaces to strangle them. "I'm sorry my actions caused you pain. I hope this brings you the closure that you seek. Never harbor hate," Medellin said to those gathered to watch him die. "Never harbor hate." In Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, where Medellin was born, a small group of his relatives condemned the execution. "This is another murder because no one has the right to take someone else's life, only God," said Medellin's cousin Reyna Armendariz. A large black bow and a banner that read "No to the death penalty ... may God forgive you," hung from an iron fence in the front of the house where Medellin lived before moving to the United States at the age of 3.

My only concern was that the illegal alien was not tortured like his victims.

This should sen a message to other illegals to rein in their sociopath activities.

The "never harbour hate" should only refer to HIS actions in taking those little girls lives.

It was HIS action and it was EXTREME HATE.

He should have said, "NEVER HARBOUR HATE LIKE I DID TOWARDS THOSE GIRLS."

What I think he was doing was putting it back on his executioners, the State of Texas, and us, the law abiding American citizens at the very end. Unremorseful and full of excuses to the end. If he were a man he would have worded it this way: "I hated, and so I have this coming to me. It is my own fault, you are justified."

That is how a true, repentant man, goes out. But I suspect we could not have expected that from such a scumbag on our US soil.

I can add two more words, between "Get" and Out!", but this is a family forum.

Jesus said: “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. “For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.” ~ Matt. 5:17-19

As I’ve said before, if one of my fellow citizens were to go to Mexico and rape and murder two young girls, you wouldn’t see me protesting against his execution.

Personally, if illegals begin to fear that the US government will execute them if they get caught. I, for one, do not lament that fear. It obviously is untrue, of course, but it it scares them enough to get out and stay out... I have no problem with it!

If he were a man he would have worded it this way

He wasn't a man - he was a sociopathic sadistic murdering raping s.o.b. And that admonition to not harbor hate was just the final mindf*** he could pull. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Let’s see.

Mad about paying the piper?

You sure don’t complain when we feed, educate, clothe, hospitalize and put money in your pockets, now do you, Mexico?

Perhaps they should start a boycott on a travel to the USA, just to be safe?

Hey, Mexicans....if you don't want to face execution, don't commit capital murder in Texas.

It's that simple.

Maybe Mexico can fix this with Matricula Consular cards.

Bwa ha ha ha ha...

Mexico, tell your citizens that are still voting in your elections from the United States, that they need to pull their heads out and obey the laws in the United States.

Number one, go home if you’re an illegal.

Number two, quit killing U.S. Citizens if you don’t want to die.

I’d be volunteering to take the guy out for Mexico if one of our citizen pulled that routine down there.
