Parents Of Starved Teen Suing City Officials
PHILADELPHIA (CBS3/AP) ― The parents charged along with city workers in the starvation death of a bedridden teenager have sued Philadelphia officials in her death.
A prosecutor blasts Andrea and Daniel Kelly for trying to profit from their daughter's August 2006 death.
Andrea Kelly is charged with murder in the death of her 14-year-old daughter, Danieal, who suffered from malnutrition and severe bedsores. The father, Daniel Kelly, is charged with endangerment.
Kelly, who suffered from cerebral palsy, was found starved to death in a sweltering, filthy West Philadelphia home in August 2006.
"It's absurd, it is disgusting at any possible level," Mayor Michael Nutter said referring to lawsuit. "The parents essentially murdered their daughter and then turn around and sue us and try to collect money."
Nine people have been charged in death of Danieal, who was under the protection of the city's human services agency. The defendants are her parents, three family friends, two private employees and two city social workers.

Those attorneys should be hung, drawn, and quartered, with their remains hung on each side of City Hall.

Maybe I’m naive about law, but if I were an attorney, I would refuse to take the case, then tell the plaintiffs to never darken my office ever again.

Here’s an excerpt:
“The plaintiffs lawyers say the suit, filed this month, could benefit the victim’s siblings. They say the parents could be barred from any damage award if they are convicted.”
So, maybe the lawyers, if not their clients’, have some sense of right and wrong.

In case you haven’t seen the whole story, on the right side there are three links that give the gory details. Me — I’d like five minutes with each of them, to meet my baseball bat! I wouldn’t kill them, just cripple them a lot.

That is so horrible and makes me so angry. Those parents should have that done to them.
And the lawyers are like a new level of sleaze.
To: brityank
Isn’t that true of most attorneys?

No, believe it or not. I had a note from my attorney, written to both my ex-wife and I, saying we could help put our kids through college, or the attorneys. “Choose wisely!” Point made; gratefully.

I really can't stomach much more of this nonsense going on in our country! This is getting out of hand. There is a big case going on in Houston right now, mind you, I am not a big fan of Joel Osteen, but the plaintiff is claiming that she got hemorrhoids from the exchange on the plane between her and Joel's wife. Do they have no shame?

Apparently not. Someone should tell them what TMI means !

Bobby Darin's "Artificial Flowers" never fails to being a tear to my eye. The thought of that little girl left to her own devices whilst too young and too innocent to even be aware of her dire straits. Perhaps even unaware of freezing. Unaware even that it was a struggle she struggled on in the unheated room doing the only thing she knew, making artificial flowers to sell on the streets.
There has to be a Heaven even if it's only for life's unfortunates.

Having lived in Philadelphia for a few years, I am baffled by the shear number of outrageous incidents like this that occur there.
Is there some kind of perverse Spirit within that city ?

They are suing because the department of social services didn’t keep them from starving their own child to death? Incredible.
