Schweitzer called out for election boasts ( Democrat Corruption )
The Billings Gazette ^ | September 11, 2008 | CHARLES S. JOHNSON

Posted on 09/11/2008 10:43:12 AM PDT by george76

Gov. Schweitzer boasted in a speech in Philadelphia in July that he tampered with the 2006 U.S. Senate election in Montana to help Democrat Jon Tester win.

Bozeman Republican activist Tamara Hall found the speech on the Internet and filed a complaint accusing the governor of vote-tampering in the race in which Tester narrowly unseated Republican incumbent Conrad Burns. She submitted a citizen's complaint against the Democratic governor this week with U.S. Attorney Bill Mercer and two state officials, Attorney General Mike McGrath and Secretary of State Brad Johnson.

Hall said Schweitzer boasted in the speech that "he designed a plan to threaten poll watchers on Indian reservations, personally applied pressure to the elections officer in Butte/Silver Bow while votes were being tabulated and manipulated the media for purposes of diminishing a call for a recount."

Tester wound up defeating Burns by only about 3,500 votes out of around 406,500 cast in a three-way race.

Others were not amused.

Montana Republican Chairman Erik Iverson, who ran Burns' campaign in the closing months, said Schweitzer's comments were not the least bit funny but were "inappropriate and breathtakingly foolish."

"The governor brags all the time about what a great ambassador he is for Montana," Iverson said. "But in this instance, he comes off as a vulgar, arrogant blowhard."

Burns said: "I cannot imagine a sitting governor bragging about breaking the law and using his influence to tip an election."

""I cannot imagine a sitting governor bragging about breaking the law and using his influence to tip an election."

New York State briefly had a governor like this...

Democratic Gov. Brian Schweitzer still leads Republican challenger Roy Brown in fundraising

Schweitzer has raised about $1.7 million to Brown’s $600,000

I'm not surprised, sounds like typical dem tactics.

Schweitzer says he was joking but he gave an awful lot of details for a joke.

And that explains why Obama has spent so much time and money in Montana.

He had a plan, a voter fraud plan.

I think freepers should begin to contribute to Roy Brown’s campaign now. We can change this election outcome. Schweitzer should be investigated immediately to see if he actually changed the outcome of a US Senate election. If I were a Republican in Montana, I would be demanding an investigation.

The corrupt ALWAYS succmb — eventually — to the ego-driven need to share their evil deeds with others.

When they do, they invariably say enough to hang themselves, but will ALWAYS claim “Oh, that was just a joke”, or “I was only kidding” if a record of their boasting ever gets any press.

Between me and YHVH, such caims are a desperate, paper-thin foil offered as a last-ditch effort to dissuade a serious investigation into the underlying substance of the bragging.

Since this is the established pattern — repeated over, and over, and over again throughout human history — these boasts should ALWAYS be taken as truthful records of actual events, and investigated to the Nth degree with an eye toward full, and complete prosecution under all applicable laws.

In brief: when evil men brag about buried bones, go dig up the skeletons, drag the perp into court, prove his guilt, read the sentence, and hang ‘em high.

Here is the real title of the article: Montana secretary of state asks probe into Schweitzer’s election tampering comments

That is a much more powerful title as the SoS has asked for the probe.

What an absolute outrage. Can you imagine if a Republican governor said this, even jokingly? He would probably have to resign at the very least. This deserves a thorough investigation. We’ll see if Olberman and his ilk start screaming about stolen elections. Ha ha.

Of course Schweitzer is touted as a “new” Democrat and a moderate. If he really were he wouldn’t be a crony of Tester, who is another faux moderate. What was his ACU rating for ‘07, in the single digits??

What are the political affiliations of U.S. Attorney Bill Mercer and two state officials, Attorney General Mike McGrath and Secretary of State Brad Johnson? Any chance there’s be legal action on this? I’d like to see a Democrook finally get arrested and sent to jail.

Schweitzer says he was joking but he gave an awful lot of details for a joke.

If he was joking, then he shouldn't have to worry about any witnesses testifying against him.

Assuming of course that our government actually has the backbone to call him on it.

If this is true, Conrad Burns needs to be given his seat back. Will this be investigated ?

I recommend tar, feathers, and a week in the stocks (with the requisite rotten vegetable throwing) on The Mall for both of them.
