He'll start Wednesday (October 1) on Greater Media's FM talker in Boston, WTKK at 96.9. The hours will be very late for the longtime morning man at WABC - 10pm-1am. Curtis says "WTKK is giving me a chance to do live and local radio in Boston, where I can continue to take it from the suites to the streets, and be raw and real." He'll follow author and journalist Michele McPhee (7-10pm), and lead into the syndicated Phil Hendrie from TRN. Greater Media may feel that Guardian Angels founder Sliwa already has some recognition in Boston due to the local chapter of the Angels. WTKK will run the Laura Ingraham show on Sunday nights from 10pm-1am.
Bad news for Ingraham fans in Boston, where her show already was delayed by some 13 hours every night. Now she’ll be on Sunday nights only BUT you can hear her live 9-noon on
WNSH AM 1570 Beverly and 10-noon on WCRN 830 Worcester.
Sliwa has done fill ins for WTKK before (I call him
“Raspberry Beret” due to that red beret he wears!). He calls it live and local but isn’t he doing his WABC show, still?
In which case he’d be doing it from NY—so much for local
(then again, Jay Severin used to do his “local” show from
Long Island...)
Curtis is one of the good guys. I wish him luck in whatever he wants to do.
If anyone knows the streets it’s Curtis.
While the local pols insist there are no gangs, no crime, everyone just be happy, we get the truth from Curtis.
guy is a scumbag.
