Then you add the double whammy of the Red Sox winning it all and their pompous Jr. Senator being the Democrat nominee for president in ‘04. Add in their self-congratulation over having elected Deval Patrick as their governor in ‘06—and really the Obama thing was just tossing another match onto an already roaring bonfire of insufferability!
