Diana Fund gives millions to Clinton charity, despite his betrayal on landmines

The Princess Diana Memorial Fund has given almost £2million to the Bill Clinton Foundation - even though the former US President betrayed a promise he made to Diana to ban landmines. The news has shocked the Princess’s many supporters who still remember how, despite his pledge, Mr Clinton ultimately bowed to Pentagon pressure and refused to sign a treaty forbidding use of the weapons. The US still uses landmines in hotspots such as the demilitarised zone between North and South Korea.

Under the Clinton administration, American agents also bugged Diana’s phone calls when she stayed with her friend Lucia Fletcher de Lima at the Brazilian Embassy in Washington. The National Security Agency still holds a top-secret file of about 30 transcripts of those personal chats, which Mr Clinton may have read. ‘I just can’t imagine why the Memorial Fund would have given money to Mr Clinton. He broke his promise to Diana and failed to support her most important campaign,’ said a retired British diplomat in Washington who met the Princess during her many visits. Mr Clinton has been obliged to name all the donors to his foundation - totalling more than 200,000 - as a condition of his wife Hillary taking up her new position as Secretary of State under President Barack Obama. There are suspicions that foreign governments and international tycoons have been giving vast sums to the Clinton Foundation to buy access and favours from the former president.

Bravo Sierra: Other than the tiny Joint Security Area (JSA) we no longer have American troops on the DMZ and haven’t for quite some time. The ROKs (South Koreans) have millions of landmines placed, but how is that our affair?

Land mines are still necessary to provide security for our troops.

Too true.
I care about the safety of AMERICAN troops. If landmines help protect our troops then I am all for them.

That’s fine, but I understand Diana’s point of “When you leave, can you take the landmines with you? Otherwise, people can’t farm the land”.

A good reminder to NEVER donate to organized charities.

They are rarely, if ever, what they seem.

Keep your charitable giving very close to your own community.

“Lady” Di, was party prime with a Saudi Prince about to give birth to a MO! Now do you think that that sweet child would be like her first two Sons?

Diana was a Trator to the Crown and the old Lady knew it!

"That’s fine, but I understand Diana’s point of “When you leave, can you take the landmines with you? Otherwise, people can’t farm the land”."

We were keeping track of every piece and cleaning up before her time. ...successful except where our prevailing constituent classes were forcing withdrawals before wars were finished, leaving overrun positions uncleared. She wanted a ban against manufacturing or using mines at all. Zero tolerance policies enforced against our military uses of certain equipment and tactics only serve to help the enemy by weakening our defenses.

As for stories fabricated for pushing only the USA and allies to ban defensive equipment and the kind of people who fabricate such stories, here's one. A few years ago, an old Alberta Nazi told me about his memories of Nazi Germany from his youth. He said that our Nation--the USA--manufactured mines intentionally to have them look exactly like toys, so that little German kids would pick them up and play with them. ...says something about the nature of some Saxon-Vandal-Hun-Nazi parents of the past, maybe. He also told me that the USA exterminated over 1 million Germans in US concentration camps.

I know it’s over a month old, but Diana never really understood the realities of a lot of things, like war.
