Ummm, what about the one in Kenya? Or was it Indonesia? Or do we really know where it was? Maybe Kansas or Seattle?

His birth certificate will be in the display case? College transcripts? Yep. Real history for real historians. ‘Scuse me while I go throw up.

I think the plaque belongs on that Kalanianole Hwy property cited in his “birth announcement” posted in the Honolulu newspaper....

Maybe 1960s apartment buildings are “historic” in Hawaii. There’s been a lot of rebuilding in the last 40+ years!

Being on the National Register of Historic Places doesn’t mean it’s a museum or is open to visitors. It just means the building is marked with a sign, and it can’t be knocked down or renovated without lots of Federal paperwork.

I am involved in the Historic Preservation movement, and this is a cute, but WAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY premature idea, considering the Obama is likely to get recalled before long.

Why has there been a lot of rebuilding? Because land prices skyrocketed, and people knocked down old dumps and built resorts. Also, 1960’s construction wasn’t up to today’s storm/earthquake codes, and didn’t include many features modern buyers want.
