One of the things I find interesting about the article is that the author, Anthony Parillo, is not a student at Rutgers, my alma mater, but at Rider University which is about 20 miles down the road. I'm surprised that Rutgers, in all their liberal wisdom, allowed this to be printed in the Daily Targum.

My personal beliefs on this subject at this point should be known to all. While I find no basis to the charge of discrimination which is typically claimed by those in support of this measure, I can't help but think that ones moral belief system has to come into play in deciding a position on the subject. To this point the only legal justification for this has been derived from judicial fiat which seems to be in direct contradiction with the will of the electorate. If same sex marriage had so much support it would be sailing through our state legislatures and being signed into law by governors. This is not the case to this point (Vermont not withstanding). What has to be refuted is this notion of discrimination. As the author so adeptly points out, the same restrictions on marriage are placed on both heterosexuals as they are on homosexuals. Therefore a claim of discrimination is untenable. This point can not be stressed enough.

“But society as a whole will be effected by the acceptance of homosexuality as “normal.” This goes beyond your little neighborhood.”

Expect to see all the schoolbooks changed to make sure husband and husband or wife and wife are used equally with husband and wife. You are going to see gay acceptance indoctrination in schools like you wouldnt believe. If you think it is bad now, just wait.

I am not an atheist just someone who refuses to be associated with religion as far as your bible goes it hold no sway over me nor will I give it any space in my life, I am a free man unencumbered by the beliefs or constraints of others.

Homosexuality is a fetish just as much as religion is a fetish...

Don’t fool yourself. No country is strong enough to withstand gay marriage. Destruction comes eventually. Homosexuality is an abomination in the eyes of God. He will only let it go on for so long, then judgment comes.

You can try to convince yourself otherwise. But you are only fooling yourself.

Yeah, I was really stunned to see the Targum as the source, though I’ve seen some conservative opinions voiced there lately.

Gay marriage in Iowa sign of country's regression

It's also a sign of the culmination of the Ages, for those who believe.

Yeah, we're a real theocracy aren't we?

I love the founding fathers, but I wish the spirtual ancestors of the Second and Third Great Awakenings would realize that they did NOT found the country. The founding fathers were not foot washers or hand clappers.

So you believe in rule by the Sheeple? You realize that the sheeple are fickle and are NOT consistently conservative or liberal.

We are SUPPOSED to be a Republic, with checks and balances on the stupid multitude and the greedy politicians. "Democracy" is what brought us Obama.

I don't see the word "marriage" in the Constitution anyplace...
