Perez Hilton didn't like the answer that Miss California, Carrie Prejean, gave during the Miss USA pageant. Perez Hilton asked Ms. Prejean the following question: "Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalize same-sex marriage. Do you think every state Miss California, Carrie Prejean, Slammed by Perez Hilton in Blog Video should follow suit, why or why not?" Miss California, taking the "you" literally, answered back in a non-PC way, and responded, in part, "...I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody there, but that's how I was raised and that's how I think it should be, between a man and a woman." Pageant contestants, apparently, are not really supposed to voice their true opinion on such controversial matters when asked. Perez Hilton was so incensed by Carrie Prejean's response that after the pageant concluded, he posted a video to his site slamming Carrie Prejean for her honest answer to his question.
The video diatribe, viewed well over a quarter of a million times, is available at Perezhilton.com in Perez Hilton's playlist. It begins with Perez Hilton stating that the pageant had just ended and that he just had to come and post a video. He said that Carrie Prejean, Miss California, gave the "worst answer in pageant history." Miss California, a strong contender for the Miss USA crown, was booed after she gave her answer to the gay marriage question. She did not win, but did come out as the first runner up. In Perez' rant, he states that, "she lost because she's a dumb ______." He went on to suggest that Miss California should have answered that gay marriage is a state's rights issue.

She was not booed, or at least the boos were overwhelmed by the applause. Miss California was the only one who gave a coherent answer. If Ms. Perez did not want to hear her opinion on the subject, he should not have asked. I think Miss California has a legitimate civil rights law suit against the pagent for the behavior of Ms. Perez.
