Lawmakers have secretly approved awarding an illegal immigrant child molester more than $4 million because he was beaten by fellow inmates while in custody. Fernandez Ramirez, 24, is an illegal immigrant from Mexico who molested a 6-year-old girl in a park. The back door settlement, paid with tax dollers, gives the illegal alien's family $3.75 million and $900,000 will go to medical liens rendered while in custody. Orange County (CA) Board of Supervisors refused to comment on the settlement even though constituents have the right to know since it's their money.

And how many legal citizens who’ve been placed in jail/prison for molesting children and were subsequently beaten by other inmates have been awarded similar judgements?

It happens quite often that child molesters are attacked by other inmates - child molesters are not viewed very well even by murderers. However, I can’t recall hearing about a child molester who was legally a resident of the U.S. being awarded such an outrageous amount of money because inmates pummled him.
This is crazy.
This country is so screwed.

In reality, large numbers of inmates in our prisons are child molesters. It's more like "going home" than the myth of a hostile environment. Scum, who fill many of our prisons, are not squeamish about little things like child molestation and the molesters quickly find "friends" inside.

I can’t speak for where you live, but I know for a fact that here in CA child molesters are the lowest of the low in prison (my father worked in CA prisons for 34 years, and I continue to know people who work for the CA Dept of Corrections).
Ironically, had he been killed there would have been no "settlement".... Which would have disappointed these Orange County lawmakers no end. Connect the dots. The "lawmakers" and their lawyer chums are already divvying up the 50%+ lawyer's take from this settlement. Count on it.
