I’m not sure but my guess is that his attorney filed a lien against the county for the medical injuries and treatment costs and damages he sustained.

“will go to medical liens rendered while in custody”

what does this mean?

This "article" is so misleading as to be ludicrous. This guy, an illegal alien, supposedly touched.... touched! a young girl in a park. He was not tried nor convicted at this point, just thrown in jail. Once in jail, the Orange County California jailers purposefully let the word slip out that he was a child molester to the entire jail inmate population, threw him in with the entire inmate population and they then beat him so badly that he was brain damaged. All the while these beatings are taking place, the jailers KNEW what was happening and did't bother to stop it.

The man was severely disabled to the point where he has to have caregivers.

The medical liens are for his medical expenses.

I posted an article that had a few quotes from Pat Buchanan’s best-selling book a while back about illegal immigration. With respect to California, it said (to take just one quote): “As tax consumers continue to flood in from Mexico, and taxpayers flee, the state is sinking in a sea of red ink. Fed up with rising crime rates and rising taxes to subsidize illegal aliens, citizens are leaving as the California they grew up in and loved morphs into Mexifornia. California is going home to Mexico. Who can deny it? With 150,000 whites leaving each year and 43 percent of all Californians under eighteen Hispanic, California is becoming - indeed, has become - a Third World state.”

Well the guy seems to have been severely crippled to the point of mental retardation. There is some clear negligence here as nobody in our jail system should be abused by other inmates.

In addition, given the sum of money and the retardation of the inmate in question, the money will probably form a trust to pay for his care for whatever remains of his rather pitiful existance.

As far as this goes in terms of outrageousness, this case doesn’t seem so bad after examining the details.

Criminals, whether illegal immigrants are not, should be dealt with and punished by an orderly justice system, not by vigilantes with a chip on their shoulder.

That’s quite a quote. Unfortunately, it is dead on accurate.
It’s time to build a fence between California and America.

The article clearly says that it was a plea deal. The original molestation charge was reduced to one of battery. Certainly you know that happens all the time in our system. It’s just another example of a molester (or perpetrator of ANY other crime) cutting a deal with the prosecutor for a lesser charge. You’re naive if you can’t see this as a repeat of something that happens a million times a day in our judicial system. Unfortunately, almost never is the criminal charged with the full counts of his felonies.

I think there’s already an ‘invisible’ wall. As Pat Buchanan said, linguistically, culturally, and politically Mexifornia has become a Third World state with more and more of the productive citizens leaving every day. Arnold, who was supposed to be a fiscal reformer, has helped make Caleefornia a state whose bond rating has been dropped by Standard & Poor to almost junk bond status, lowest of the 50 states. I think the deficit there is something like $42 billion. Since they’ve taxed everything but the air, he’s coming to the federal government (US!) for a bailout! It’s a perfect example of a failed state due to out-of-control liberal tax-and-spend policies. And a warning to the rest of us!

OK- Since I am paying some of the settlement I demand that I get to administer some justice with my fist.

Reason # 10,275,996 why our entire government needs to be bored out with a sharpened Roto Rooter, starting in Washington, DC and working down through state, county and local governments.

Would it be unconstitutional to require all candidates for election at any level to display a moderate level of intelligence and a working knowledge of the US Constitution?
