I hear this repeated, but I wonder how true it is. If the mass of the car is reduced, then it has less momentum as it travels and collides with other stuff and so will do less damage to that other stuff, which may or may not be a low mass car. Whatever it is, assuming it isn't a tree, there will be people involved who will probably be more lightly injured than if they collided with a Mack Truck.

See post 13 ... a SMART car at 1,600 lbs is 1,400 pounds less than a Camry. That is an indication that Obama just sentenced 6,160 to 10,920 random drivers to death. Tyranny is whimsical - Steyn was right.
