Carbongate (Obama's EPA Cover-up)
IBD Editorials ^ | June 26, 2009 | Investor's Business Daily

Climate Change: A suppressed EPA study says old U.N. data ignore the decline in global temperatures and other inconvenient truths. Was the report kept under wraps to influence the vote on the cap-and-trade bill? This was supposed to be the most transparent administration ever. Yet as the House of Representatives prepared to vote on the Waxman-Markey bill, the largest tax increase in U.S. history on 100% of Americans, an attempt was made to suppress a study shredding supporters' arguments.

Quite a few of those points, if not all, are correct. Which do you dispute?

If I had time, I'd dispute all of them, but since I don't, read this instead, which does it for me:

Bubkes

The fact is the Earth is cooling, and rather rapidly over the last few years.

Ridiculous. It's just interannual variability. The last two years have been influenced by a strong La Nina. We may have an El Nino this year. If so, that tune will change in a hurry.

I’m also of the view, based on the best science regarding solar cycles, that the cooling trend will likely continue, as mentioned, until 2030 or so.

It'd be nice if you were right. You're probably not right.

The global warming alarmists are simply in the position of having their lovely theories demolished by pesky reality.

Pesky reality is going to bite us back hard.

This is exactly the reason that they want Cap/Trade. They can claim, over the coming years, that their incredible foresight and wisdom saved us. Therefore, attempting to gain credibility of having a clue about anything (which they only know re-election and stealing my money).

I absolutely hate these detestable bastards.

“If I had time, I’d dispute all of them, but since I don’t, read this instead, which does it for me:

There are sources of directly measured data that are indicative. The JASON satellite sea level measurements, and the ARGO buoy ocean heat content measurements are two.

Both of them show a nice, consistent cooling trend since 2002.

Then there’s the global sea ice extent, which is right at the baseline at the moment, after dipping quite a bit in 2007.

“Ridiculous. It’s just interannual variability. The last two years have been influenced by a strong La Nina. We may have an El Nino this year. If so, that tune will change in a hurry.”

Last two years? The warmest year on record was 1998! If things are warming, how can that be?

In truth, you’re not giving the solar cycle the weight it deserves. Read about the Dalton and Maunder minimums. And what of the Medieval Warm Period? Ancient SUVs? The current solar minimum is a hundred year level event, and it’s not over yet.

Humans contribute less than .2% (that’s .002 of the total) of greenhouse gasses. That’s in the noise, and no excuse for trillions spent and our future hosed. Global warming is a scam and a sham. I hope the right people are held to account someday. It may be a painful reckoning.

“It was written by a couple of economists copying material from a skeptical Web site.”

Just another followup on this, but the “economist” of the pair also has a Caltech physics degree. Hardly a lightweight.

“They can claim, over the coming years, that their incredible foresight and wisdom saved us.”

Nope. Everyone involved knows that the total effect of this multi-trillion dollar bill is a .2 degree drop in 2100 (maybe).

Any kind of drop in temperature over the next couple decades is completely unexpected by the global warming community, and such a drop will torpedo their theory. Really, the current drop in temperatures since 1998 should be enough to cancel any global warming based policy, in a sane world.

Instead, 0bama is in power.

There are a few sort of old songs that remind me of this fiasco:

Ridiculous. It's just interannual variability

Why is it when local temperatures go up in June, people like you call it an irreversible trend.

But when average global temperatures fall for eight straight years, people like you call it "interannual variability".

Good points. Keep it up. As hoaxes go, this one’s in contention for big time. Others getting some light shed on them, too.

... The answer is too simple, yet it explains our human weakness thoroughly: because we want to get high, get laid, and have a slave do the hard work while we parasite off the weak

You got a mouse in your pocket, or was that a "royal" we?

We are seeing the results of school integration, and the degradation of our youth. Not to sound totally racist (maybe just 99% or less), but the hood got expanded, and the lagging black students were used as an excuse to dumb down the rest of the kids. Look at the public school results from todays classes. We do a good job with "feelings", though.

Now, we import Indian (dots, not feathers) engineers, and travel there for medical procedures on the cheap, because many are better trained than ours, yet work cheaper at home. We are getting dumber students yearly, with higher union costs attached. We use Latino invaders to sweep our floors and paint our houses, and our Pols reward them with our kids piggy banks.

Our manufacturing base was decades old when WW2 came along, and we built cheap places to build stuff, and cheap ways to get it there. Following that war, we spent OUR money to rebuild our enemies factories with modern stuff... hmmmm

China is playing the same game it always has. It will probably be doing it tomorrow. I can't say the same for Amerika!

*********

The Art of War (excerpt) by General Sun Tzu (attributed):

18. All warfare is based on deception.

19. Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near.

20. Hold out baits to entice the enemy. Feign disorder, and crush him.

21. If he is secure at all points, be prepared for him. If he is in superior strength, evade him.

22. If your opponent is of choleric temper, seek to irritate him. Pretend to be weak, that he may grow arrogant.

23. If he is taking his ease, give him no rest. If his forces are united, separate them.

24. Attack him where he is unprepared, appear where you are not expected.

25. These military devices, leading to victory, must not be divulged beforehand.

26. Now the general who wins a battle makes many calculations in his temple ere the battle is fought. The general who loses a battle makes but few calculations beforehand. Thus do many calculations lead to victory, and few calculations to defeat: how much more no calculation at all! It is by attention to this point that I can foresee who is likely to win or lose...(complete translation)

It has nothing to do with science or logic. The bill’s purpose is to cede sovereignty to the United Nations. Read it. It cites the United Nations 22 times and gives authority over the Sec. of State and the Sec, of Energy to the United Nations and it’s numerous councils, especially when it comes to creating regulations on the American people, setting fees and setting fines.

Apparently no one in the press has read it, or they are perfectly in agreement that the United Nations should have control over the executive branch appointees of our government.

I’ve been watching Fox News this morning, and the bill will definitely die!

Check it out:

Inhofe on Fox Live Now: Cap and Trade DOA “I’m kind of rejoicing”
Fox News ^ | 6/29/2009 | Self

Inhofe just interviewed live on Fox. Fox is running with the suppressed EPA report challanging manmade global warming as a major story. Inhofe says the Cap and Trade bill is “DOA” in the Senate. There will be an investigation into the EPA suppressing valid science. He said “I’m kind of rejoicing”, and that he’s finally vindicated after years of pointing out the poor science.

The Fox anchor: “This is huge!”

Victory!!!

>Maybe that’s “being led around by the noose.”<

Although I suspect you are right, they should seethe big picture now.
Going against that sort of thing and being very open and public about it can only help them and not hinder them.
But i suspect it is much like a sex crime where a person is violated. They later are afraid to talk about it for fear that they will be considered the wrong one in the whole ordeal.
When in fact, people do understand and they can get help.

This of course being not equally as horrible for the politician as a victim of a crime, and something that they should be more open about because they really have no excuse not to be when it is us that they serve, not Pelosi or Obama.
