The perils of losing one's grip on reality... Politicians should tone down the rhetoric. Protesters should read some history before making Hitler comparisons. Talk-show hosts should stop pretending that paranoid nitwits are asking reasonable questions. If people are continually told that their government is plotting against them, a few may decide to fight back. And as Lee Harvey Oswald showed, even one man with a violent sense of grievance can do a lot of harm.

Occasionally you’ll get someone on the fringe at those rallies.
I am still waiting though for the mainstream media to call out the fringe elements who are the CORE, not just a few individuals, of the pro-Obamacare protests.
The author is from the government and is here to help.
trying to depict the town-hallers and Tea Partiers ;o) as crazies is going to backfire on them...
I don't think they ever expected the ‘silent’ majority to raise up and roar...
Where was this nitwit when the left was painting Bush as Hitler?
Reading this BS, this suddenly jumped out...
This is a garbage article that uses extremely questionably sources, such as this leftist poverty law center hysteria.
He was under his rock.
probably writing just that...
He suggests that before we liken anyones actions to the nazis, we should first read history =
Well, we know the history of the nazis rise to power - from step on on - and this regime is following it like a blueprint -
WE just aren't supposed to notice. After all, it isn't being taught in schools anymore...
We beat them down now - or we'll never have another chance
are they building up a rationale for loosing the little caesar’s private army on us? His “National Security Force...”
AND IT BEGINS...
“They” suggest that if anything happens to Obummer,
a conservative did it. It is really “they” who plot
against their own man - because he is failing to
accomplish the deed they put him in office to do.
... DESTROY AMERICA.
hree’s a better one -
to the music of Star Wars?
Hitler was elected too, wasn’t he? Slowly, though, he built his power and it’s too difficult to topple him. If Bush was a hitler, the Dims wouldn’t have taken the Congress and no zero would be in Martha Vineyard today.
Tripe it is. Cooked well it is tasty but not nutritious in the long run.
I don’t advocate violence, and I certainly don’t advocate assassination. But what about those politicians and news media people who continually demonize the opposition to this health care reform legislation? Where’s the criticism of them? What good does that do in the debate? Make it easier to dismiss the opponents? Make it okay to take away their rights? Maybe even justify an assault, which has happened? The protestors may be loud, but they haven’t been violent and aggressive.
But, it's better with bacon!
We know our history, punk "journalist"...that is why we say what we say. We really don't need your advice.
We know that Hussein's policies create tremendous debt and generational slavery. Something, apparently, you economists don't know about economics is that Keynes was wrong.
So do us a favor, dummy. Shove it. We're not goin' away. We're gonna keep fighting for freedom.
See, CLOWN, we are carrying on a tradition of liberty started by the founding fathers--if this were 1776, you retards at the "Economist" would be telling us to try and get along with King George. Fortunately, your ilk was ignored...if you love freakin' fascism so much, then go live in another country. We don't want any of it.
I'm thinking he was smirking condescendingly.
