Kokesh has friends in high places and his dad has bucks...

I’m just saying that district is a real uphill climb for any republican even without this traitor stirring the pot.

We’ll see. After inflicting Bill Richardson on the world, who knows what northern NM is capable of?

Oh, snap! I haven’t lived there for a few years, but I remember the story behind that...

So typical of these spoiled brat commies.

Great post Tim.

I was just posting on another thread about this Marxist, Adam Kokesh and one of his major supporters, Ron Paul.

Some people need to get a clue.

Santa Fe City has 72,000 as of 2008. The County has 144,000 (but that’s a large area, and a lot of it is spillover growth from ABQ).

Thanks, especially considering the county extends down to Edgewood area.

Yup. I always thought that is weird when you head east on I-40 out of ABQ that you pass through that short stretch of Santa Fe County.

When I was there it was under 40,000 and they were not looking to grow.

It was 40k back in 1970. The county itself has added 40k just since 1990.

I attended the College of Santa Fe in 1965 and 1966. I was back in Santa Fe about 8 years ago and did notice growth out by the college and noticed the college had grown some.

My grandparents lived there during the ‘60s, but alas, sold their house around ‘71 before the property values skyrocketed. They ended up buying a similar-sized home in a quiet neighborhood in Albuquerque. 25 years later down there, it was a war zone/slum for Hispanic gangbangers. My grandparents are now buried in the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

I liked New Mexico a lot after I became acclimated. I was 18 and boarded a plane in New York City and the next thing I knew I was getting off the airplane at the Albuquerque airport. In 1965 it was not the airport of today. They drove us up to Santa Fe on a bus and you could imagine the state of shock I was in. In the morning I was viewing the New York skyline in the evening..you get the picture.
It took about 6 months to grow to like the place.

Santa Fe is a nice place to visit for a few days, but, alas, like so many “nice” places, it’s been taken over by the superwealthy extreme left New Age fringe. It’s funny that (despite the growth) a lot of the gov’t workers can’t afford to live there and have to schlep the hour drive up I-25 from ABQ 5 days a week. Not a place for folks of modest means or those who are in the political mainstream.
