Woman gets probation in school kidnapping case

Elaine Clermont's defiance had as much to do with why she went to jail instead of home today after District Judge Doug Herndon sentenced her in connection with the kidnapping of a child near a school.

Clermont consistently has refused to admit she did anything wrong even after she was arrested, charged and convicted of charges stemming from the 2008 incident.

The headline is wrong. She got 120 days in jail.

Her defiance tells me she got off light.

She says she’s being persecuted for being a Christian and a Republican. Good grief.

This woman has a huge chip on her shoulder. It makes for being a lousy witness for Christ.

The lesson here, folks, is if you see an unaccompanied six-year-old wandering around town during school hours, look the other way and keep on truckin’.

Because if the “proper authorities” aren't doing it, it ain't gettin’ done.
