Inside the Surprising McCain-Palin Friendship (McCain's newest "apprentice") (BARF ALERT)
The Daily Beast ^ | 2010-03-26 | Shushannah Walshe

Posted on 03/26/2010 10:41:48 AM PDT by rabscuttle385

As the former running mates prepare to campaign together for the first time since 2008, sources familiar with them say they have chatty, personal phone calls and remain friendly even though Palin attacked many of McCain’s loyal staffers. Shushannah Walshe takes us inside their relationship and what it means for McCain’s campaign.

This weekend John McCain and Sarah Palin are bringing the band back together and hitting the road in support of the Arizona senator’s reelection battle. On Friday, there will be a rally and picnic in Tucson followed by a private fundraiser. The next day, the former presidential ticket will be campaigning in the Phoenix suburb of Mesa. The campaign expects 1,000 people at each rally to see the duo back together.

(snip)

A close friend and adviser to McCain would not describe their relationship since the campaign as still that of mentor and apprentice, although it may have started that way in August 2008.

(snip)

McCain’s goal is clear: Win the GOP primary and retain his Senate seat and calling in his old running mate may just get him one step closer to that objective. As one former adviser put it, “He is single-mindedly focused on destroying Hayworth and hates his guts and believes Palin will help him do that.”

Now that “JOHN” is no longer needed, hook him back up with Palin to bring Palin down.

Palin is remaining loyal to the man that had the courage to put her in the national spotlight.

I suppose the more Mavericky thing to do would be to support Hayworth. She’s in a tough position.

“McCain’s goal is clear: Win the GOP primary and retain his Senate seat”

Yes. So he can run AGAIN for President.

Don’t you think he deserves it?

If McCain gets renominated, forget Palin as a serious candidate - you can stick a fork in her - she’s done.

John McCain’s last attempt to destroy the conservative party is to drag Palin into his blood sucking campaign.
I hope JD stomps him, I can’t vote for JD, but I’ve sent him two donations.

What is it with the OLD PITIFUL SENATORS. They just won’t go away. The DIE in office. Bird, Kennedy, Spector, McCain, Etc, Etc... How Pitiful, and Sad that your life is being called Senator.

John, just go Away....

If McCain is renominated, you can still a fork in ALL of us, Because america will be done.

2010 has to be a landslide win for conservatives, followed by another landslide win in 2012. Otherwise, we’ll me a socialist, euro style country in a death sprial.

This really is our last chance. I’ve given money to 5 conservatives around the country already.

JD is among that group.

You are right, and that is why Sarah Palin can go back to Anchorage and watch the Russians across the Straits. I no longer have any respect for her.

And the sad thing is, if the McManiac DOES get re-elected with her help, he’’l slap her nithe face and walk away - that is the McMcain way.

I sooooo agree with this comment you made.

we are looking in the wrong direction for help. God is Sovereign. He is in control. He tells us the t way to live and blesses those that are obedient. America has gone downhill every since taking God and prayer out of schools, sex and drugs and rock and roll, legalized abortions, and now are destroying the marriage between a man and a woman, endorsing homosexuality, forgetting to praise God for the blessings of the last 70 years plus. In truth we deserve to reap the result of the the acts we have sown ... and it looks as if He is allowing it. How else to wake us up and turn us back to Him? How soon we forget.

God forgive us for our offenses against You, show mercy on Your people and America, help us to be pleasing before You, in Jesus name, amen.

Seems like Sarah has done her duty to Juan. Time to be busy next time he calls.

If this keeps going on, I for one will start to see Sarah in a changing and less flattering light.

In the meantime: does anyone know if FOX or C-Span are going to cover the rally?

That’s funny! You never had any respect for Palin, don’t LIE and act like you were pro Palin BEFORE this terrible affront. Even JD acknowledges that she has to do it. If we take back the house and Senate, it’s going to be with Palin’s help and hard work. Spare me your feinted support, go back and vote for Mitt or Huck, which is who you supported the whole time.

I’ll Stick with Sarah.

Erm, Shusannah (sp?) Walshe???

Co-author of hit book “Sarah from Alaska?”

Writer who stopped 8-year-old Piper Palin as she walked home from school to get info. about her Mom?

Why are we treating her story as if it is a serious piece of journalism?

And when I typed “hit” book, I did not mean hit as in 2.6 million sold (that would be Going Rogue).

I meant “hit” as in hit piece expanded into a hit book...

PLEASEEEEEEE.

I had Sarah on my desktop. She is hot. She likes guns and hunting, that’s great. The only reason I voted for that rat McCain is because of her.

As for Huckelberry and/or Mitty, forget them too. Hucklebee can’t win - that issue with the pardon killed him. The Health Care Debacle in Massachusetts put the final nail in RINO Romney’s coffin.

If Palin can’t redeem herself, there are other lurking out there - Cantor, Jindhal, Marco Rubio, DeMint, Pence and others.

The same old faces need to go because the same old facces helped put the Marxist Muslim in the Oval Office.

““He is single-mindedly focused on destroying Hayworth and hates his guts and believes Palin will help him do that.””

What???? John McCain HATES???? His supporters say he’s such a sweetheart. He has no reason to hate J.D. Hayworth. McCain thrives on hate. He’s an angry old fool.

I’m with you.

I’m about over Palin. Less than two years of playing “Big Boy Politics” and she’s already just another typical politician.
