Health care reform that works right now [Sen. Mary "Louisiana Purchase" Landrieu]
The (New Orleans) Times-Picayune ^ | April 9, 2010 | Sen. Mary Landrieu

Posted on 04/09/2010 6:08:21 AM PDT by Ebenezer

After 100 years of determined effort without result, Congress has finally delivered meaningful health care coverage to all Americans. The health care bill that passed the U.S. Senate with 60 votes on Christmas Eve was approved by a majority of the House of Representatives and signed into law last month by President Obama.

For months, people throughout Louisiana have heard hysterical cries from some quarters that the bill is unconstitutional and that it should be repealed. These naysayers are using these scare tactics to distract attention from the many important provisions in the bill.

Children will be covered, even when they are sick. This new law will provide immediate access to quality, affordable health insurance for as many as 96,000 uninsured Louisianians who have previously been denied coverage by insurance companies because of a pre-existing condition.

For the first time ever, insurance companies will also be prevented from excluding coverage due to pre-existing conditions for the more than 1 million children in Louisiana. This includes not just children battling cancer, but those suffering diabetes, asthma, sickle-cell anemia and obesity.

I’ve been sick of this braying jenny since we lost to her in ‘96. That was a rough one to lose.

We have got to make her defeat in ‘14 absolutely top priority.

I was sick too. I want her out so badly! Hopefully we can get a good candidate to run against her in 2014. She is a sellout, a liar and a liberal puppet for the big 0. Her arrogant butt has got to go - and her all her elitist staff as well.

Stupid cow. There are already existing laws to do everything you claim that this will be covered under the new law. HIPAA and CHIPRA already covers portability and coverage of children.

In other words Mary, you are a liar.

“After 100 years of determined effort without result, Congress has finally delivered meaningful health care coverage to all Americans.”

Actually, she should have said:

“After 145 years of determined effort without result, Congress has finally delivered meaningful SLAVERY coverage to all Americans.”

Those Democrats are persistent little buggers, when it comes to “their property”, aren’t they?

NATIONAL DEMS TO THROW SUPPORT BEHIND LANDRIEU IN MAYOR'S RACE IN EXCHANGE FOR MARY'S VOTE
Dead Pelican | Chad E. Rogers /FR Posted by chemicalman

Jan 3,2010---Once believed to be the front runner in the New Orleans mayoral election, Senator Edward Murray has dropped out! Sources tell THE DEAD PELICAN that Murray's exit has made Lt. Governor Mitch Landerieu the new front runner, and it will he will be difficult to beat.

This is partly because the DNC plans to provide massive amounts of cash in support of Landrieu's mayoral bid. Mitch's backing by the DNC comes as part of a deal his sister Sen Mary Landrieu struck with the Obama White House.

Landrieu received $300 million in medicaid/Katrina funding in exchange for her vote to begin debate on the Obama health care proposal. But sources say that Landrieu's vote has also secured DNC support for her brother Mitch in the New Orleans mayor's race. "She's doing something nice for little bro' on her way out," said a top insider....who expects Landrieu to lose reelection.

=============================================

FOR YOUR REFERENCE A provision in the Senate bill fashioned by Sen Reid sends $100 million to Louisiana to cover Medicaid "for the poor." Plus $200 Million for (cough) Katrina costs. Louisiana's Mary Landrieu (posing as a holdout) said, as the 8 PM vote loomed: "I've decided that there are enough significant reforms and safeguards in this bill to move forward."

(Sniff) Landrieu voted "for the poor." Now she can flaunt her "tolerance and compassion (sob).

====================================================

We need to connect the dots to those who voted for O/Care and connect it to their federal and state campaign finance filings. If public money in O/Care was legislated for one purpose then converted to campaign donations, that is illegal.

ACTION The FBI should interrogate Landrieu and her associates to determine what they received of value---money, jobs, campaign contributions, political cover---in exchange for votes, and the extent of the collusion to misuse Congressional influence.

POSSIBLE CHARGES: illegal conversions; facilitating govt fraud; official acts prohibited; misuse of Congressional funds; abuse of public office; violating oath of office; misuse of government position; abuse of government power; conflict of interest; influence buying; conspiracy to deceive; misuse of elective office, collusion, conspiracy to collude; falsifying official documents, presenting false instruments for filing.

Landrieu's official campaign finance records filed with the FEC, and state election commissions, should be scrutinized for possible violations. (a) Determine if names of contributors are legit, (b) whether campaign contributions were disguised. (d) whether she colluded and agreed to give/get something of value, campaign assistance, campaign cash, a govt gratuity, jobs for relatives, etc, in exchange for votes.

=================================================

Keep in mind that elected officials are held to a higher legal authority---what is acceptable behavior for citizens might be a prosecutable crime for elected legislators under oath of office.

"I'm a Healthcare Holdout--Buy Me."

Going, going, gone----S=O=L=D----for $300 million.
With all that govt money in her offshore account, maybe
Landrieu'll do something about that ugly retro hair of hers.

Here is another healthcare fraud criminal case disposition that was investigated and brought to prosecution under the Bush administration.

Obama says he and his cronies will root out medical fraud under his socialist healthcare scheme. I doubt it. The majority of these healthcare fraudsters are Obama voters.

Detroit clinic owner sent to prison
Published: April 7, 2010 at 8:45 PM

DETROIT, April 7 (UPI) — A Detroit clinic owner was sentenced to 81 months in federal prison and ordered to help pay $9.77 million in restitution for Medicare fraud, authorities said.

The U.S. Justice Department said in a release Suresh Chand, 46, of Warren, Mich., is to serve three years of supervised release following his prison term.

Chand had pleaded guilty in September to one count of conspiracy to commit healthcare fraud and one count of conspiracy to launder money.

Federal authorities said that from about January 2003 to March 2007, Chand — who owned Continental Rehab Services Inc. — and co-conspirators submitted claims to the Medicare program totaling more than $18 million for physical and occupational therapy services that were not provided. Medicare paid about $8.5 million on those claims.

One co-conspirator, Dr. Jose Castro-Ramirez, was found guilty March 10 of conspiracy to commit healthcare fraud, healthcare fraud and money laundering for his role in the conspiracy. His sentencing is set for June 29.
