Barack Obama: The Miss America Presidency

When I first set eyes on Barack Obama I knew that the Republicans didnt have a chance at winning the Presidency. Obama, a young, handsome, bi-racial idealist whispering the poetry of hope and change was unstoppable when placed next to the old, white, sameness of John McCain. Everything about the Obama candidacy seemed perfectly orchestrated. His presidency, while less popular, has been equally choreographed. There is an almost beauty pageant perfection to his image.
The beauty pageant world of President Obama continued this week with the signing of the Nuclear Arms Treaty with Russia. NPRs Morning Edition ran a story, one of four that day, titled Arms Pact with Russia Advances Obamas Pledge. Hosts Rene Montagne and Steve Inskeep delivered the news with overwhelmingly positive coverage. They came across like classic Miss America Pageant emcees Burt Parks and Kathy Lee Gifford. In fact, the coverage of this monumental treaty to disarm the U.S. resembled the cliche interview questions for which pageant contestants are mercilessly made fun of. I imagine it like this:
Emcee: Mr. Obama, if you become Mr. Universe, what will you choose as your platform?
President Obama: As Mr. Universe, I will champion the cause of World Peace by ridding the world of nuclear weapons and forming friendships with all nations of the world.
Applause! Applause!
The following quote lays it on even thicker by bringing up Obamas Nobel Peace Prize!

Emcee: Mr. Obama, if you become Mr. Universe, what will you choose as your platform? My platform will be the backs of the American people".
To: Michael van der Galien
The entire world, the ENTIRE WORLD, mind you, realized the sham-wish-fabrication-falsity that is Obama when he was awarded a Nobel Peace Prize for having convinced a plethora of ill-educated hopefuls to do the unthinkable - vote for him for President of the United States.

Why do we have over 50 contestants to chose from for Miss America & only 2 for Prez?

When I first sized up Barack Obama I figured that the American voters would easily see through the guy. I guess I gave more credit to voters than I should have.

BTW- What a great analogy... this “President” and a Miss America winner!! Ha!!
“O” is just about as fatuous, shallow and simple-minded as a beauty contestant, no offense to beauty contestants!!

It’s odd about people remembering this marxist when he broke onto the scene. How many nobody, political individuals do you remember from a speech in previous years; for me, none? But I remember the first time I saw this guy and remember thinking, that guy is going to be a problem.

Agree wholeheartedly! When I first saw/heard him at the DNC National Convention in 2004, I remember thinking, “We’re about to be screwed.”

Really it's an odd phenomenon. I've heard others talk about that as well. Has to be chalked up to a spiritual thing. Nobody ever stands out like that in people's minds and this tyrant was not special or extrodinary. He was well spoken but there are a lot of articulate people in this country. I think it was the hidden (they thought hidden) evil that caused some people to take notice. Call that a far fetched theory if you want but I firmly believe that God does provide an insight to people and the Holy Spirit carries out the 'message'. Too much has happened in my own life that verifies this.

I’m not sure it’s ‘wisdom’ per say. Your comment indicates you didn’t notice and you aren’t alone. But there are many people that picked up ‘something’ about this tyrant. Maybe it was due to history lessons or a spirtual ‘eye’.
