Report: LA GOP Whisper Campaign: Allee Bautsch "Earned" Stomping With "Her Sassy Mouth"

The scandal of the aftermath of the vicious political attack on Alexandra "Allee" Bautsch, the chief fundraiser for Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, and her boyfriend, Joe Brown, as they left a Republican fundraiser attended by three GOP governors (Jindal, Rick Perry of Texas and Haley Barbour of Mississippi) April 9th has taken a sickening turn as a report has surfaced that some in the Lousiana GOP are giving Bautsch what amounts to a second beating by starting a whispering campaign that she "earned" the attack with her "sassy mouth."

Blogger Pat Dollard, who has been working the story of the attack, Tweeted last night accusing some in the Louisiana GOP of saying that Bautsch deserved the attack and that he's confirmed the Louisiana "Republican establishment" is trying to "shut down the Allee Bautsch story." His report is in contrast to a statement by Louisiana GOP Chairman Louis Villere, Jr.--who has not blamed Bautsch for the attack--that he was pursued without provocation by protesters outside the same event where Bautsch and Brown were later attacked.

Dollard's report lends credence to what a reporter who is also working the story told me on background last week, that the scuttlebutt was that people were going to be saying Bautsch has a "big mouth" and "may have brought the attack on herself."

Dollard's Tweets:

"I have verification that the Republican establishment in Louisiana is trying to shut down the Allee Bautsch story."
about 12 hours ago via web

"The Republican Establishment in Louisiana is afraid of Allee Bautsch, they think she "has a sassy mouth" and may have "earned" the beating."
about 11 hours ago via web

Gov. Jindal has been noticably silent on the maiming of his aide, issuing a brief statement three days after the attack when it first became public and later sending out his spokesman to deny a report that the couple was wearing Sarah Palin pins when attacked. Curiously, the New Orleans police also waited three days until the attack became public to open a criminal investigation.

Bautsch's mother, Della Berning, says her daughter's leg was stomped and broken in four places by protesters who were part of an anti-Republican protest organized by leftists who followed the couple from Brennan's restaurant, the scene of the fundraiser.

Bautsch's wounds required a rod and seven screws to be implanted in her leg. Brown suffered a broken nose and jaw and as well as a concussion that gave him problems with remembering details of the attack.

According to the police report, which is based on Brown's beating-induced foggy memory, the attackers yelled things like, " "Little blonde bitch," "You're a f------- faggot," and "You think you're f------ special."

Bautsch's mother told Fox News, "...things were said to my daughter and to her boyfriend that basically everything was about money. From the time they were walking out of the restaurant things were being said to them."

Berning told Yahoo News that Brown and her daughter have told her they were attacked by protesters who followed them as they left the fundraiser at Brennan's.

The host of the fundraiser, Louisiana Republican Chairman Roger Villere, Jr., said in an intrview that he was targeted and pursued by protesters as he tried to leave the fundraiser. He and his group had to leave out the back as the protesters had blocked the entrance to Brennan's. When the protesters spotted them, Villere and his group fled to a taxi and made their escape. Bautsch and Brown weren't as lucky.

Some conservative bloggers and reporters have hurt their reputations with their condescending efforts to play down the political basis for the attack on Bautsch and Brown.

Pat Dollard spoke for many last night when he Tweeted:

Welcome to the Stockholm Syndrome of the Republican Establishment, and the Elites of the Conservative Blogging Establisment who prop 'em up.
about 13 hours ago via web

And

I'm getting the feeling that the elites in the Conservative blogging establishment are as useless as the elites in the GOP.
about 13 hours ago via web

With the mainstream media feeling no pressure to pursue the story, it's no wonder some in the Louisiana GOP are not afraid to blame the victim.

Fortunately, The Hayride, Free Republic, Human Events, Gateway Pundit, Big Government, Lincoln Parish News Online, Tennessee Conservative, Big Journalism and Pat Dollard have maintained their independence from GOP and MSM approval and reported the story as it developed.

While late to the story, Fox News and Megyn Kelly get credit for interviewing Bautsch's mother last Friday and for booking The Hayride's Scott McKay to be on about 2:10 p.m. EDT today.

As noted, The Hayride's Scott McKay is scheduled to be on the Fox News Channel today around 2:10 p.m. EDT. Hopefully someone out there will be able to record and post it to YouTube (hint, hint.)

In this picture, it does not look like Brown has a broken nose and jaw, or that Bautsch has a leg broken in four places.

Maybe Joe Klein will come to this couple's defense... /sarc

Blame the victim. Bill Clinton must have advised the DNC Brownshirts on this strategy.

You’d be seeing a lot more about this if Joe Brown had his CCW and had whupped out his trusty .45 and plugged a thug or two.

What little respect I had for Jindal after his disasterous ‘Its all about Me!’ rebuttal to Obama’s SOTU address is now gone.

I'm getting the feeling that the elites in the Conservative blogging establishment are as useless as the elites in the GOP.

Neither Michelle Malkin or AllahPundit, as of this writing, have bothered to acknowledge, even in passing, the increasingly self-evident wrongness of their haughty earlier dismissals of this story... so: yep.

Sad, ain't it?

Louisiana GOP Official: Cops not Called to Brennan’s Mob Scene Until About 9:30 PM
04/19/2010 by Walter Abbott

An official of the Louisiana GOP that attended the $10 thousand/person GOP fundraiser held at Brennan’s Restaurant in New Orleans’ French Quarter has told Lincoln Parish News Online that New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) officers weren’t called to the restaurant until about 9:30 PM. Louisiana Federation of Republican Women’s (LFRW) representative to the GOP State Central Committee Valarie Hodges said that the mob of protesters had become unruly and were crowded up against the front door of the restaurant as she and her husband and another couple were leaving the event.

“Before that time, there was no security or police” at the restaurant despite the presence of Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour, Texas Governor Rick Perry, and at least one congressman. “The mob had been building for a couple of hours,” she added.

Eric Miller, a local photographer hired to take pictures at the fundraiser said that as he was leaving the premises, the protesters had crowded up to the front door and were hassling patrons trying to enter and leave. “There was a family with kids – maybe six or eight years old – trying to get in. The protesters were bombarding them with all sorts of four-letter words,” he said. “That was completely unnecessary. These folks were just tourists out on the town,” he added.

Some of Miller’s photos of the commotion can be seen here. Scenes of the mob and its activity have been well documented on The Hayride.

Later that night, Allee Bautsch and her date Joe Brown were brutally assaulted a block from the restaurant, on the sidewalk outside the Louisiana Supreme Court Building. The fundraiser and assault took place on Friday, April 9.

Another person who attended the event, who knew and has worked with Bautsch for GOP fund-raising, was disappointed that Gov. Jindal hasn’t been more forceful in standing up for his employee and demanding publicly that the perpetrators be brought to justice.

Hodges also noted her disappointment with the Jindal.

Today we contacted the Governor’s Press Office, but they had nothing to say about the incident after we told them of what had been said of them in our interviews.

We also contacted the NOPD and spoke to Gary Flot, but the only new information he gave us was that Sgt. Nick Gernin of the Eighth Police District was the only one assigned to the case. We asked to speak to Sgt. Gernin, but he had not come in to the office when we called.

Are you implying that evil Tea Party surgeons implanted a rod and seven screws in her leg just for propaganda purposes?

I am beginning to despise politicians of any stripe. I mean this is getting out of control. What are we working for? The GOP just wants to take advantage of our hatred for the Dems and their policies, but they are just as nasty. But a third party isn’t the solution either.

Can’t we Freepers just all chip in for an island in the south pacific? Please?

Well, unless the police or ambulance crew beat them after the photo was taken, they do have those injuries, whether you can see them or not.

Jindal and the R’s in LA have some ‘splainin’ to do. How dare he “downplay” this? I hope his career dies right here and now.

You have xray vision or something? Just because the bone isn’t sticking out of the skin or the leg is facing backwards doesn’t mean it isn’t broken or fractured. Sheesh.
