My other bad feeling is that McCain will go the Crist/Lieberman Independent route if when he doesn't win in Aug... I hope I'm wrong.

Many are, but he has so very much money and such an entrenched get out the vote machine that it makes it difficult to run against him.
J.D. Hayworth is hanging in there and spending his money pretty wisely on good ads that address what he’s done to improve immigration issues etc. while pointing out that McCain was proposing amnesty at the same time J.D. was proposing a bill to lock down the border first. Things like that are the way to go, but McCain went ugly as heck before Hayworth ever announced so it’s going to be brutal.
