In 2007, NLPC sponsored a shareholder proposal asking Goldman Sachs to disclose its charitable contributions and the business rationale for each gift. I spoke for five minutes in support of the resolution, focusing on Goldmans support for Jackson and his group, the so-called Citizenship Education Fund. Goldman is a longtime sponsor of the Wall Street Project, Jacksons annual fundraising event in New York City. The Wall Street Project is a project of the Citizenship Education Fund.
From my 2007 remarks:
Lets consider what Goldman is subsidizing through Jesse Jacksons organizations. Last April, the Duke rape case grabbed headlines, and soon after Jackson was on the scene. He dismissed suggestions that the accused lacrosse players were entitled to a presumption of innocence, and announced that the Rainbow/PUSH coalition would provide a college scholarship to the accuser. Of course, the strippers allegations have fallen apart.
Disclosure of Goldmans contributions will assist shareholders in knowing exactly where their money is going. The 2007 Wall Street Conference is a project of something called the Citizenship Education Fund (CEF). According to the conference program, Goldman was a sponsor of the event.
Shareholders should be aware that:
- CEF was the vehicle for payments to Jacksons mistress for the purchase of a home, in violation of the groups 501(c) (3) tax status.
- In 2005, CEF was fined by the Federal Election Commission for illegally coordinating with the Democratic National Committee in the 2000 elections. This partisan activity also violated CEFs tax status.
- CEF sponsored a conference in Chicago in 2005 where Nation of Islam Leader Louis Farrakhan was a featured speaker. At the same event, controversial entertainer Harry Belafonte complained that only a Jew has a right to the word Holocaust. He went on to call Abraham Foxman, the director of the Anti-Defamation League a powerful Jew and a liar.
At the same conference in 2006, Jackson called for a boycott of British Petroleum, even though BP was a sponsor of the event, demonstrating that corporations may falsely believe they are buying protection by funding Jacksons groups.
The depth and width of the criminality in government and their big business supporters in without boundary. It must be obvious to anyone with half a brain...even liberals...that this type of incest cannot persist forever without the whole house of cards coming down...in a violent manner.
The atmosphere is ripe for CEO’s of any company to start putting their foot down and slam “Reverend” Jesse Jackson as the race-baiting, Jew-hating, huckster/poverty-pimp hypocrite that he really is. (and always has been)
As little as 5-10 years ago that would not have been possible- Jackson would have had the full media support behind him. But those days are GONE and we need to ACT LIKE IT.
Letting the media control the agenda is WHAT GOT US INTO THIS MESS!!!!!
Rumors swirl over U.S. Rep. Jackson’s role in Senate race

So, what should we make of a story in Monday’s Politico saying that U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. may well sit out or even endorse Republican Mark Kirk in the race for the U.S. Senate?
The answer is about as clear as the Potomac amid a spring flood.
The story quotes Mr. Jackson, a Chicago Democrat, as saying that, while he likes Democratic nominee Alexi Giannoulias, “I have great respect for Mark Kirk and his service to the people of Illinois.”
Both men serve on the House Appropriations Committee, and a source who should know tells me the two men indeed have become buds.
Given that, it’s quite likely that Mr. Jackson won’t endorse anyone in the race, though formal backing for Congressman Kirk is a possibility, that source says.
A second source in the middle of this claims Mr. Jackson just is trying to squeeze Illinois’ senior U.S. senator, Richard Durbin, who badly wants to keep the seat in Democratic hands.
What might Mr. Jackson want from Mr. Durbin? Perhaps a little more help for his beloved Peotone airport.
But someone who should know laughs that off and says it’s more likely that Mr. Jackson just is trying to show a bit of bipartisan, good-government leg as the trial of former Gov. Rod Blagojevich nears.
Mr. Jackson could be savaged in that trial by testimony indicating that friends of his offered to raise mucho political bucks for Mr. Blagojevich if the then-guv would appoint Mr. Jackson to fill the remainder of Barack Obama’s Senate term.
Mr. Jackson has denied any impropriety. But the trial isn’t likely to do much to boost his public image.
Hah!
Saying the trial is not likely to boost his public image is an understatement and I doubt there’s any bipartisanship in Jackson.
Thanks.
