Unfortunate Revelation: Obama uninformed and unconcerned
with war effort in Afghanistan to defeat Islamic Terrorism

The startling and disturbing news that Afghanistan Commanding General Stanley McChrystal found President Obama uninformed and unconcerned about the war in Afghanistan has been front page news.  But what bothers us it that the media has ignored the most disturbing detail of the story.

General McChrystal got in trouble for voicing his frustrations and difficulties in working with Obama and his administration on the war in Afghanistan. Let’s not forget the most important detail was that McChrystal feels Obama and his people are checked out. They’re not paying attention to the war.

Ironically, Obama has turned to General David Petraeus to take his place.  This is the same General that was criticized for wanting a surge of troops in Iraq.  Democrat Senator Harry Reid even said the war in Iraq was lost, and he wanted American troops to withdraw as losers rather than follow the Petraeus strategy to win the war – which our military did brilliantly.

Obama opposed the Iraq war, claiming that Afghanistan was the real war.  Now, we hear from the top General that Obama was uninformed and disinterested.  Do you know how dispiriting this is to our troops in the field?  They are feeling abandoned by their own President.

Our troops are not getting the attention they deserve! There is a frustration that with all the domestic turmoil, the bailouts, Obama’s domestic agenda he keeps pushing, and the outrage at his handling of the BP oil spill, our troops are getting LOST in the tide of the news cycle!

We can’t let our troops be forgotten! We can’t let our troops down, and we can’t let General Petraeus down! Our troops need our support more than ever, as they are sacrificing so much for our freedom and safety.  We owe it to them to pay attention, and to support them!

Inside the care packages are a number of items that the troops have asked for over the years, including sunscreen, Gatorade, deodorant, coffee, cookies and much more. The temperatures are soaring in the Middle East and the Gatorade is very refreshing for our overheated troops, who sweat under heavy body armor and helmets while lugging heavy weapons.

You can be part of this historic effort by tuning into the Troopathon, sponsoring a care package with a personal note, and remembering our troops during the hot summer days.

If the Obama regime isn't going to support the troops then they need to be pulled from the field. Let the democrats face the consequences of losing the war. I don't want to see Americans get killed because the criminal-in-chief left them hanging only to be killed with ridiculous and dangerous rules of conflict that doesn't allow them to return fire at the enemy.

Always a great morale booster for the people who are actually fighting these wars to know that the folks at the top are incredibly clueless and stupid.

Evweryone knows that the McC dustup was more about zero’s ego than McC’s ability to prosecute the war.

And, our enemies in Afghanistan know that, despite the blather from zero, come summer of 2011, they will have a free ride to do whatever they want.

America and the President have checked out on the Afghan War.

Our troops are fighting a foreign war and how many days did it make the leading news last month?

US invests in Brazil oil company Petrobras 224Bil through 2014

This is what the Pentagon is busy doing-- studies for investment potential?

June 2010

A Pentagon team, working with geologists and other experts, has shared its data with the Afghan government, and is working with the Afghan Ministry of Mines to prepare information for potential investors in hopes of placing some mineral exploration rights up for auction within the next six months. Afghan officials said they believed that the American estimates of the value of the mineral deposits — nearly $1 trillion — were too conservative, and that they could be worth as much as $3 trillion.

here we have McChrystal ( a liberal) focusing his carreer on trying to avoid the political mistakes he learned about in Vietnam, frustrated and trying his best to save the lives of every single soldier in the field, caught joking around about the "system" that gets our troops, our kids KILLED.

......then along comes a liberal reporter to expose the "horrible obama administration bashing" by the McKrystal staff

so instead of sucking it up like a man, Obama fires him,,...... wisdom at its finest

the real enemy and threat to liberty and freedom is in the White House, not in Afghanistan

Very good comments by everyone, thank you!

The story, kinda buried in the article:

I think ideas just float around Obama's brain and when one grabs a synapse out it comes from his purple haze.

Fires one General and hires another one who his handler Soros spent probably hundreds of thousands of dollars to hang the new one with the title General BetrayUs.

Oops, wait a minute. That is what they want in a General!

I just found this thread, Go New General!

"so instead of sucking it up like a man, Obama fires him,,...... wisdom at its finest"

This was the week that the spineless little dope fiend needed to make an example of somebody. After getting his ass kicked around the room by that house fly, McKrystal presented a perfect target of opportunity.

I heartily agree with people supporting the troops as much as they can.

But this is a little sensationalist. Troops in Iraq don't feel forgotten. They don't like Obama, but for the most part, they see Iraq as a victory and are enthusiastically embracing the drawdown of forces and the upcoming Operation New Dawn beginning September 1.

Not withdrawal, drawdown.

As for Afghanistan, I can't speak firsthand, but friends of mine who are stationed there aren't echoing the strong demoralization that is being represented. They are, however, somewhat frustrated with the leadership and the direction things have been going.

I agree, it's not that well written

I think the point which should have been made is that the troops more likely believe that the administration pretty much abandoned them...bad ROE etc plus the attitude of the administration towards Troops in general and a lackadaisical approach to these wars...in other words not caring if we win or lose (or perhaps hoping we lose) and again the elitist attitudes.

Thanks for the informed info, Allegra.

Yes, the demoralization is overblown, it's more the leadership and the direction things have been going as you said.

Heck, our men and women in the field know more about how to come out ahead in Afghanistan and Iraq than the PTB IMO.

That's gotta cause frustration when your hands are tied by political correctness in fighting a war.

I got more than an earful about that last Monday from a first sergeant - nobody wants to go over there. They really don't want to go there - but they do and they will, because it's a duty. Add to that, when the 'top's time is up in a few months, she's leaving. The homo garbage being force fed onto them was one of the last straws for her. Really concerns me about how many capable and experienced people are getting fed up and leaving the ranks due to all the Obamanista BS. Frustrating as hell watching every institution in this nation systematically getting marginalized and destroyed. Someway, somehow this too shall pass.
