For a group that supported Obama so heavily in 2008 and in his first year in office, only 43 percent of Hispanics surveyed said Obama is adequately addressing their needs, with the economy a major concern. Another 32 percent were on the fence, while 21 percent said he'd done a poor job.

Minorities: Penalized for Business Success
Black-Owned Businesses. Even a company as big and successful as Black Entertainment Television (BET) will not survive its founder’s death under current tax law. In order to pay the death tax, the heirs will likely have to sell BET to a big conglomerate.[12] The same would happen to Chicago’s Chatham Food Center, built up by Leonard L. Harris, who put his earnings back into his business. His family, too, would have to sell the store in order to pay the IRS.[13] Worse still, The Chicago Daily Defender, the oldest black-owned daily newspaper in the United States, was already forced into bankruptcy by the death tax in 2003.[14]
Hispanic-Owned Businesses. Hispanic families fare the same, for there is no minority advantage with the Grim Reaper. As one owner of a manufacturing and engineering company in Nevada put it: “If I shut down my business, it puts 18 families on the street. These families would then become dependent on the government for support, and it would increase the problem—not solve it.”[15]
In 2004, about 1 million Hispanic-owned businesses were sole proprietorships, employing 3.5 million and grossing $200 billion in receipts.[16] This is a lot of civil society infrastructure to wipe out, infrastructure that would be much broader in the second generation as businesses grow (just like the Marvar shrimp business in Biloxi or the defunct timber businesses of Bearden Arkansas). The average minority-owned business spends $28,000 annually on life insurance premiums to prepare for the death tax, and $9,000 on associated legal fees. All this money could be used to expand businesses or to continue to build communities. One in five Hispanic family business owners said he would have to sell his business or property early in order to provide liquidity to pay the death tax.[17]

Why are “their” needs different than the needs of anyone else?
A bad economy impacts Hispanics really hard because so many of them work in service industries. A lot of the jobs they take are related to tourism and general consumer spending.
Lack of work causes a lot of family stress, too, not just because of the decreased income but also because males are looked to as the primary breadwinners whereas in gringo families acquisition of income is more spread between spouses.
Hard to feel sorry for any of these special minorities who need a hyphen in front of American. They are getting the government they voted for, and the government they deserve. Too bad we are all getting the government they deserve.
None of that will stop blacks from voting for anybody with black skin unless s/he’s a conservative. Skin color is the most important qualifier for the black vote, even when that vote is clearly against their own interests.
This doesn't even seem like a poll, it's surely no "snapshot" of the electorate.
Make ‘em all citizens; that’ll bring ‘em around.
I predict that if events continue on their current course, we will even see an erosion of support from blacks for Obama.

Hispanics in favor of Amnesty really shot themselves in the foot by turning out heavily for Obama. First, Obama never showed much leadership on the issue. Second, it sent a strong message to those on the fence that the guy who led the charge up the hill at least three times, McCain, ended up getting the back of their hand in 2008.
Don’t get me wrong. I am near violently opposed to Amnesty, and don’t think much of McCain. But there is a lot of irony in how this played out. If Latinos had voted more rationally and less racially, they not only would have had an Amnesty champ in the White House but he could have used their turnout for him to sway votes for it.
I'm willing to bet they are over the fence by now... and heading for their day jobs.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but, from what I’ve observed, I thought there was a lot of enmity between the Hispanic and Black communities. They are both vying for the entitlements. The Blacks feel like the Hispanics are cutting into their freebies, causing animosity on both sides. Am I right or wrong?
That's been my observation as well at the neighborhood level. Still, they can unite at the polls where there's a common interest in looting whitey.
Meanwhile, he has 95% approval ratings among blacks.
Huge difference between the thinking of people from the zone of mexico and the countrues of Latin America.
Black democrat politicians aren’t even speaking out on behalf of the 25 percent of unemployed blacks. Obama is sticking it to everyone except union workers.
Not in my experience. They all want more handouts and special treatment.
This is a laugh. They are disappointed because he hasn’t done enough for them. They want more “special treatment” and the GOP is just stupid enough to try to promise them more of our stuff to get the percentages up.
Bam Bam and his minions made the mistake of thinking the illegals and the loud vulgar communist activists represent the hispanic Americans. Many, in fact most, are Americans first.
