Blumenthal has slipped below the 50 percent mark of support against Republican Linda McMahon in the state’s U.S. Senate race.

Blumenthal, the state’s longtime attorney general, picks up 47 percent of the vote, while McMahon earns 40 percent. Five percent prefer some other candidate, and 7 percent remain undecided.

Support for McMahon is unchanged from last month, despite her GOP primary win Tuesday. Blumenthal’s support is down 6 points since last month. In June, Blumenthal held a 56 percent to 33 percent lead over McMahon, the former head of Worldwide Wrestling Entertainment.

But the great thing about a democracy is we have elections, not auctions.

As if tricky Dick is a pauper.

If the Dems have to spend big money to defend this seat, which should be a safe one for them, it’ll be a sign that they are truly in trouble nationally. This will be an interesting bellwether to watch.

Doesn't this gal have an inside track with the more recent immigrants and the Hispanics with this wrestling connection?

They'll view her as an avenging Chicadora or something!

Her “inside track” will be with independent suburban women.

If she works hard enough she can get their vote and body slam Blumenthal.

I think this is a bellwether race where November is concerned.
Blumenthal is Mr. Bash-the-Banks, which is rapidly becoming the one card left for the Dimocrats to play.

Her first ad, the ad no one in the state could avoid was so directed at them, I thought it was an attack ad on her and clicked it off the first few times.

It was brilliant. For those not in CT, two well attired women in a nice car were discussing Linda. One mentioned WWE and said "Its not my cup of tea". The other wrinkled her perky little nose and said, "mine neither".

Then the first asked with a smirk, "Think she will shake things up in Washington?"

"Oh yeah" said they other and they both laughed.

Blumenthal is awful on TV. Comes across as a reptile.

I was trying to express to an elderly neighbor what I think of Blumenthal. Got into how he went after a woman over a contract dispute and almost destroyed her. I was floundering a bit trying to capture exactly what he is when she interrupted and said:

"He is cruel. He is a cruel man".

And that is exactly it. He gets off on hurting people. I hope people in other states pay attention to what Connecticut could send to the U.S. Senate.

He always is on TV suing some company or another for something. I wonder how the other 49 AG’s miss it? Maybe they just s@ck and he is the best of the lot? Not!

Is this the Blumenthal that Glenn Beck utterly destroyed in an interview?
