Ground Zero Imam’s mission sparks fears
Associated Press ^ | August 21, 2010

Posted on 08/21/2010 11:04:01 AM PDT by george76

Some of the imam’s American critics said they fear he is using the taxpayer-funded trip to raise money and rally support in the Muslim world for the mosque.

“I think there is no place for this,” said the Rev. Franklin Graham, who is the son of evangelist Billy Graham and opposes the Islamic center and mosque. “Can you imagine if the State Department paid to send me on a trip anywhere? The separation of church and state — the critics would have been howling.”

Libs should be howling about separation of church and state. Just like we knew - it isn’t religion - it’s Christianity they oppose.

What’s up with this commie ‘RAT “fear” thing? Americans “fear” this, Americans “fear” that. That’s boo****! Real Americans don’t “fear” anything. I’d just as soon kick a liberal’s ass than look at them.

Did the AP just use the words “Ground Zero”?

What liberals fail to understand is that supporting islam gets you zero brownie points. Once muslims reach critical mass, as they already have in several countries in Europe, they will ram their “religion” down our throats and that includes libs. The time to stop all that nonsense is right now. It’ll only get worse from here on out if we don’t do anything.

Did the AP just use the words “Ground Zero”?

The local newspapers are free to word their own headlines. Probably didn't get the memo.

What Libs fail to understand is that Muzzies are using them to gain power and sympathy.

Once the Muzzies reach critical mass they will turn on the Libs in a heartbeat!

We're paying to send radical Imams around the world seeking funds to build mosques here, while the state dept is giving your tax money to help build mosques overseas.

Anti-christian zealots like Rev Barry Lynn, who crap their shorts at the thought of a cross over a US soldier's grave, don't utter so much as a peep.

The day is a-comin'...

I still dont get why his trip is funded with tax payers money and whey we can have a muslim mosque at ground zero but not rebuild the church that was destroyed...we cant pay for christians to travel the world for money..and isnt he taking cash from Enemies? what does the law say? He says his goal is to establish Sheria law here and destroy the evil document(constitution)...why is our Government making us pay for our own destruction????

In Europe there is still a significant slice of the population that is left wing. I am not sure why they can’t understand the islam domination thing. A lot of left wingers with money (the limousine libs) are not directly confronted with muslims and the islamic way of life. They are able to move to nice subdivisions and live a comfortable life there. Their kids go to nice liberal schools and have every advantage in life. Muslim kids on the other hand usually end up in public schools where the rest of the kids go. People who cannot afford to move out of their muslim infested neighborhoods are the ones who scream the loudest and who usually turn conservative and right wing. At that time they get talked down to by the limousine libs who consider themselves oh so noble, “tolerant” and smart. Tipping the balance from left wing to right wing seems to be very much a slow, but steady, process. It also seems tied into how much money you make. The good news is that the numbers seem to be dwindling.

Oops, forgot a few words. Should be:

You have just described exactly why our "ruling class" in America doesn't see illegal immigration as a problem.

After all, if not for illegal aliens, who would mow their grass?

“US State Dept Sends Mosque Imam to Mideast”
August 9, 2010 - 7:01 PM | by: Jake Gibson

SNIPPET: “WASHINGTON– State Department officials on Monday confirmed Feisal Abdul Rauf, the Imam of the so-called Ground Zero Mosque, will soon be going on a trip of the Middle East and the U.S. government will be picking up the tab.”

SNIPPET: “Rauf has emerged as a controversial figure because of his refusal to acknowledge Hamas as a terrorist organization, which is how the U.S. government classifies the group. The imam also has been quoted as saying U.S. foreign policy was in part responsible for the 9/11 attacks.

“He is a distinguished Muslim cleric,” said State Department Spokesman P.J. Crowley. “We do have a program whereby, through our Educational and Cultural Affairs Bureau here at the State Department, we send people from Muslim communities here in this country around the world to help people overseas understand our society and the role of religion within our society.””

“For The Record - The IPT Blog”

“Asra Nomani on Ground Zero Mosque Opponents: “their fears are legitimate””
by IPT News • Aug 13, 2010 at 12:58 pm

SNIPPET: “As the debate rages on over the planned Islamic cultural center near ground zero, most American Muslim groups have come out to vocally support the project. But there are those, even in the Muslim community, who are concerned with having a mosque so close to the site of the worst terrorist attack on American soil. One such woman is Asra Q. Nomani, who took to the pages of The Daily Beast to explain why she was uncomfortable with the planned Cordoba Project.

Writing about a trip she recently took with her son to visit Ground Zero, Nomani recalls how on the way home they passed by two locations—the place where the planned Cordoba House will sit and the Masjid Manhattan, “known in the Muslim community as the ‘Salafi mosque.” And, as Nomani explains, while the leaders of these organizations would say they speak for Islam, “the worlds represented by these two mosques could not be further apart.”

The problem Nomani says, is an unwillingness to recognize and denounce radicalism:

“In the name of political correctness, too many inside our Muslim community have been apologists for Islam, feeling defensive, but not being as brutally honest as the world needs us to be about the problem.”

And that, according to Nomani, makes the concerns of New Yorker’s understandable.”

Thanks for that post.

Masjid Manhattan? A Salafi mosque? Salafists are the worst of the bomb-throwers. Osama Bin Laden is a Salafist, iirc.

They have a Salafist mosque in Manhattan that hasn't been cleaned out by the FBI??

The one in Finsbury Park in London is the one where Scotland Yard took 600 pounds of ricin away from imam Abu 'Orrible .... Dr. Hook with the eyepatch .... he said they had a rat problem, so of course they accumulated enough ricin to kill every rat in Europe 42 times.

As our British friends would say, "Right, then. Come along, please, there's a nice gentleman."

Ted Olson, the anointed “conservative” by the drive-by media liars argued there is a “right to marry” in the Constitution.

Olson on Fox news, is now arguing there is a “right to build” in the Constitution.

Since Islamic law allows a man to have four wives, will Terd Olson argue they have a “right to marry” as well???

The Second Amendment is illegal in NYC.

These legal hacks like Terd Olson have given us endless, cascading rivers of lies about why an American citizen cannot own a gun in NYC, but now they want to tell me that a foreign enemy has Constitutional rights they would routinely deny a citizen of this country?

Maybe this mosque will perform polygamous gay marriages and Ted Olson is angling for a black burqa judicial appointement from Sodom Hussein Obama...
