Boxer drops into dead heat with Fiorina in Rasmussen poll
hotair.com ^ | Ed Morrissey

You’ll remember that Rasmussen has actually been the good news poll for Barbara Boxer in her re-election campaign. The last Field Poll showed her trailing Carly Fiorina, and so did Survey USA, while Rasmussen at the same time had her up five points, 45/40. Now her Rasmussen firewall shows signs of crumbling as it has her lead down to a single point, 44/43:

Democratic incumbent Barbara Boxer and her Republican challenger Carly Fiorina are now essentially tied in California’s U.S. Senate race, moving the state from Leans Democratic to a Toss-Up in the Rasmussen ReportsElection 2010 Senate Balance of Power rankings. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in California shows Boxer with 44% support, while Fiorina picks up 43% of the vote. Five percent (5%) like another candidate in the race, and eight percent (8%) are undecided.

Earlier this month, Boxer held a five-point lead, 45% to 40%, and she was ahead 49% to 42% in July. Since February, Boxer’s support has ranged from 42% to 49%. In those same surveys, Fiorina, former CEO of Hewlett-Packard, has earned 38% to 43% of the vote.

If California goes well, we are in tremendous shape in November.

Although it’s a nice thought...I’ll believe CA goes republican when I see it. Not a moment sooner.

Oh, it would be so nice to see Boxer go down in this election.

The witch stated on the Senate floor that she didn’t believe a baby was worthy of state protection until the parents took it home.

Dang...thought the headline read “Boxer drops dead in the heat”...it has been toasty in Kallie-fornia the past couple weeks.

LOL! I had the same reaction. Wishful thinking I guess, especially after Pelosi was jinxed by one of her own lackeys.

Yes it has been really toasty in Cali this week. Monday and Tuesday in Sacramento county was 103 and 106 degrees respectively. Today, it is 96 degrees. By Saturday though, we will be cooling off to 77 degrees.

I really don't think people want to hear it this time. There's real economic pain in this state and if Carly Fiorina one posed nude for her boyfriend or once tipped only 5% or took the mattress tags off her bed, Californians aren't going to give a sweet sh-t. They want to know where Boxer's been while the state sank into the mire, why she sided with the EPA on denying water to the Central Valley putting 10s of thousands out of work and why the only 2 issues she ever seems to care about is abortion and putting increased taxes on the gas we Californians use to keep us on the freeways. Until Boxer can answer those questions to peoples' satisfaction, and I doubt she ever can, the rest is just going to be background noise.

As a Californian, I agreed that Carly Fiorina is not a perfect conservative candidate we have running for the Senate, however, having her in the Senate make more sense then keep on sending a bimbo Boxer back every election. Just like in 47th Congressional district, it seem like Van Tran is giving Sanchez a run for her money.

It is my hope that California will turn from Blue to Purple then to Red by 2012. It an uphill thinking but I sure hope it can be done.

It will be interesting to see how effective the "machine" of the Democrat party is in California, especially with respect to union organization.

Most of the high-intensity (and close) elections in California the last few years have been centered around social issues, and not necessarily things that drive union voters to the polls. We'll see if they can effectively turn out to help their advocate, Boxer. Hopefully, they're out of practice in California.

Either way, Kah-Lee-Forn-Yah and America are screwed.

This is a contest between two nutjobs and, regardless of who wins, the winner will still be a nutjob!!
