Amid growing voter anger and frustration that Miami-Dade County government may raise property tax rates while granting pay increases to its employees, business leader Norman Braman threw down the gauntlet by threatening a recall effort of County Mayor Carlos Alvarez and any county commissioner who votes for the rate hikes.

In the vote late Monday night, commissioners voting to raise the tax rate were Dennis Moss, Barbara Jordan, Katy Sorenson, Natacha Seijas, Dorrin Rolle, Sally Heyman, Audrey Edmonson, and Bruno Barreiro. Those voting against a tax rate increase were Carlos Gimenez, Javier Souto, Joe Martinez, Jose “Pepe’’ Diaz, and Rebeca Sosa.

Since taxes are almost always raised by democrats, we can easily assume that the “Voting to raise the tax rate” were democrats.
