ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski is on the cusp of vindication after waging a high stakes - and long shot - write-in campaign to keep her job.
Initial returns show write-in ballots holding a 13,439-vote edge over GOP nominee Joe Miller, and though it's not clear how many of those are for her or will be counted as valid, she's confident enough in her winning to tell supporters that they'd "made history." The write-in count starts Wednesday in Juneau.

Gee, I had no idea the 37,000 absentee ballots had been counted before they even start counting them.

I get tired of ****oles who “make history” by getting “elected” and then want to “make” more “history” by running America into the ground and destroying our economy and country.
I’m not happy that Lisa Murkowski may have won, but I see no advantage in abusing her and driving her into caucusing with the Rats. If the Rats can put up with Joe Lieberman, we can do business with Murkowski.
All of this, and the woman doesn’t even have a single vote that has been counted in her favor as yet.
I know the establishment RINOs will welcome her with open arms, but she should be thrown out of every Republican room she enters. What a disgusting person! I wouldn’t talk to her or include her in any meetings whatsoever. But, we know the RINOs will have a welcome home party for her. She’s disgusting!

Based on the decisions I've seen her make to date, I can answer that in one word:
Poorly
Miller on the radio the other day said that typically 5% of all write in ballots are disqualified. Add to that the fact that there were over 160 elligible write in names with many of the Murkowski lookalikes taken by other candidates in a political stunt. On top of that there are 37000+ outstanding absentee ballots, many of which are military.
The press is definitely pulling for that fish-mouthed woman but I just don’t see the numbers in her favor. What am I missing?
She hasn’t won yet! Pray they don’t screw Joe Miller by tossing out all the write-in votes made out to him.
She’ll legislate the way she (may) win this election: with promises of business as usual and lots and lots of pork for Alaska.
That’s what this election mainly comes down to, IMHOO (my humble outsider opinion). Ending pork (Joe Miller) or preserving the pork (Murkowski). Everything else is just spin and window dressing my Murky.
