I think they cost us in CA over 10 billion a year.
We have 10% of the USA population and something like 34% of all the welfare.
We in CA are a dead state financially. We are almost zombies financially at this point.
Then we have almost 700 billion in lottery sized retirement funds promised to all kinds of government union employees.

Since they do not verify SS# with the Federal Govt, it is likely that many illegals use false number when enrolling in school. Since millions of illegal workers are using false SS# why wouldn’t their kids be using them also?
There is a tragic aspect to the mess in which California finds itself. But mostly it is stupidity and ignorance that caused this mess. Those that believe that the government is a cash cow with no limits to its largesse deserve the problems about to befall the once mighty state. Unfortunately, the rest of us will be dragged down with the ignorant voters.
It is not just illegals, but also anchor babies. Here in CA, we have a budget deficit of $16-18 billion per year and are guaranteed to crash, but as a ca guy says; illegals cost us north of $10 billion/yr, without which, we’d be back in the black in just a couple years.
It will most likely be a tragedy for all of us.
Don’t you think at some point the rest of the states are going to be asked/forced to bail out the failing progressive states?

I’m worried about violent revolution. We have millions of barbarians inside our gates and the gutless wonders in Government won’t close the gates, man the walls and start sweeps to remove them.

If we try to remove the barbarians (we don’t have to deport them, just cut them off from bennies and jobs and they’ll self deport...), we’re likely to see massive insurrections and our “leadership” lacks the guts to spill the blood to resolve issue in favor of our nation.

Let me summarize: Overtaxed American citizens are being ordered by government lackies to shut-up and BOHICA because the illegals feel entitled to anything they want, and will tell you that any effort to stop their stealing, or even assess the damage of their stealing is a greater crime than their own selfish theft.
The laughably "non-partison" Hispanic "think tank" clearly is partisan and prejudiced against America when a foundational principle they hold is that every single SSN logged in to the school authorities is legitimate and legal.
The article itself is itself propaganda because while the anchor child may legally be an American, the parents most often are not here legally and thus the entire family should be in Mexico and their spawn attending what passes for a Mexican school. The author treats the student as some sort of legal entity that appears when school starts, and disappears into the ether when the last bell rings only to magically reappear at the metal detectors the next morning.

I have been giving this topic some thought and that logic doesn't really work out.
Lets take your typical Mexican flag waving illegal demanding citizenship because they ironically claim to love America. The second part of their chant is demanding that this is their land and the whites should leave and return to their homeland which is always said to be Europe.
Moving beyond the racism, fallacies and other dementia, a few questions should be raised.
(1) Why are they here rather than Mexico? If they are here to conquer lost land, then they should be treated as military invaders and gunned down like enemy combatants in any other war of invasion. If they are here because there are no opportunities outside of government or the drug trade then the expected follow-up question should be:
(2) If the "gringos" all self-deport to Europe, what makes you think that they will leave their assets behind? What can be wired, packed on a truck or shipped will be exported leaving empty buildings, no water and power (who is going to provide free utilities) and no expertise in generating revenue or operating a business any more complicated than a chop shop or push-cart taquiera
California is experiencing the phenomena in a small way now with the Means Of Production and Producers abandoning that welfare state. left on their own, the Education Cartel has almost destroyed Texas and surely will complete that task within the next decade. I fear that with a little shove from D.C. based political forces, and the fear of offending the illegals within Texas, this Great State is only a year or so from being the next California.
And THAT $2,000,000,000 is just for schools. How much for welfare, WIC, HUD, Medicade and all the other crap taxpayers get shaken down for?

A former coworker from El Paso told me that he has complained to the school board about the school bus that goes to the Mexican border every school day and picks up mexican children and takes them to school. The bus then takes them back to the border after school is over. Americans pick up the tab for these illegals- transportation, food, education and any medical incurred during school hours.
He said he was called a racist by the board.
As long as politicians whore after teachers union votes and public schools whore after federal funds based soley on headcount, there’s no incentive for change. Reform won’t come unless the money dries up...which won’t happen as long as the feds keep printing more.

Sorry, but the barbarians that toppled Rome didn’t start out as invaders looking to conquer. They started out as cheap labor. We have same thing here, its just progressing much faster. We even have the same pressures - businesses wanting to keep their cheap labor and citizens wanting them expelled.
It isn’t really possible move the wealth of private citizens. Most of my wealth is tied up in a house and furnishings. My savings are substantial, but much less than than the value of my “stuff.” There would be plenty of loot, at least for a while. If you need examples, you can look at other nations where the barbarians won: Zimbabwe, South Africa, Haiti, etc.
Different situations. America doesn’t have the history that Rome had and has, and the system works much differently then it did in Roman times. The Romans had a substantial population of ‘non-Roman’ citizens in their borders, whereas the US considers citizenship to work differently.
You couldn’t *just* become a Roman by being on the Roman side, and frankly the American system is better.
