I think they cost us in CA over 10 billion a year.
We have 10% of the USA population and something like 34% of all the welfare.
We in CA are a dead state financially. We are almost zombies financially at this point.
Then we have almost 700 billion in lottery sized retirement funds promised to all kinds of government union employees.

Yes, I feel bad for you guys on the Left side. California is a whole ‘nother story, and one that has tragedy written all over it.

If you can get the state to go bankrupt (chapter 7) and sell those retirements to the Federal Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation the effect will be to lop off all state retirement payments at $48,000.
