R. Sargent Shriver, the former Peace Corps director and vice-presidential nominee, has died after being admitted in critical condition at a hospital in Maryland, NationalJournal.Com has confirmed.

Prayers to the Shrivers. The Kennedy’s get a horrible rap, but I don’t care what people say here the Shrivers raised their children right. You never hear a bad thing about the five children of Eunice and Sargeant. They started Special Olympics. The only real disappointment that I have seen in this family is Maria endorsing Obama. I mean I certainly didn’t expect her to endorse McCain, but Obama? Otherwise they are a great section of the Kennedy’s.....the only good part.
He really angered the pro abortion lobby when he ran an ad in the NY Times in the early nineties criticizing the Democrat party for its pro-death stance. And he did wonderful work with the handicapped. God rest his soul.
Let me be clear. The Kennedy’s deserve the horrible rap, but the Shrivers don’t. Prayers to the family.
Shriver was a kind hearted Lib (Peace Corps), not the evil, crazy Libs like Obama/Clintons.
Shriver stepped up as McGovern’s (UGH!!) running mate after the Eagleton story broke about his mental issues.
As if McGovern doesn’t have mental problems!

Sargent Shriver and Eunice Kennedy - the only Kennedy’s who had a shred of moral decency.
Although I did not agree with his politics, he was good person.
RIP.
