Koch brothers now at heart of GOP power (L.A. Times "Story")
Los Angeles Times ^ | 2/6/2011 | Tom Hamburger,

Reporting from Washington — The billionaire brothers David and Charles Koch no longer sit outside Washington's political establishment, isolated by their uncompromising conservatism. Instead, they are now at the center of Republican power, a change most evident in the new makeup of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

Wichita-based Koch Industries and its employees formed the largest single oil and gas donor to members of the panel, ahead of giants like Exxon Mobil, contributing $279,500 to 22 of the committee's 31 Republicans, and $32,000 to five Democrats.

What these goat-cranker idiots do not realize is that George Soros is just as heavily tied into GOP politicans and groups as the Koch Brothers are. I would not be surprised that Soros and the Koch’s are members of the same organizations

I get a kick out of these articles about Soros and/or the Koch’s....when neither of the critics of both really know which groups and candidates the two power-brokers support

Make a muckety map of David Koch and then make one of George Soros.

Koch will bring up a fraction of the connections you’ll find for George Soros and the Koch connections are all to museums, and hospitals etc.

Quite true. Once a person gets wealthy enough, (super billionaire), the whole political game changes. It’s no longer left vs right anymore. They have to spend money/energy fending off other sharks who would eat them alive, and eating other sharks to remove the competition.

The Koch brothers have become the left’s new boogiemen. MSNBC has run lots of trash about them, and the talking points have filtered down to the underlings, who now routinely mention the Koch brothers as a comeback to Soros. Even the befuddled druggie Bill Schultz on “Redeye” has dropped the Koch name in an attempt to be a relevant leftie.

Good remember. Forgot about him.

They 'Alinskyed' Scaife before I even knew about Saul Alinsky.

Typical Alinsky ploy: Personalize. Freeze. Demonize.

That was Rahm in action. He failed, Rush is just too tough for him.

Reporter Tom Hamburger formerly worked at the Minneapolis Star Tribune and regularly hammered the Kochs who have a refinery south of St. Paul.

How do we show our support to the Kock Brothers?

What businesses are they in?

I suggest an anti-boycott.

The Koch brothers have become the left’s new boogiemen.

I could teach a two week course on "techniques of yellow journalism" from the recent NewYorker story on David Koch by Jane Mayer.

Yes. THAT Jane Mayer...
