ABC News ^ | March 28, 2011

President Barack Obama is offering Congress and an anxious public his first detailed accounting of his rationale for U.S. military involvement in Lybia and perhaps an answer to the burning question: What's next?

His speech, set for 7:30 p.m. EDT Monday, comes after the administration scored an important diplomatic victory. NATO ambassadors on Sunday approved a plan for the alliance to assume from the U.S. command all aerial operations, including ground attacks.

Obama received approval from NATO, the Arab League and the UN. Hard to make any case without Congressional approval.

This is an unconstitutional and unlawful intervention. Period.

On Monday night he will discuss how the mission advanced U.S interests

This morning CBS news essentially said U.S. interests = oil. I was livid and asked my wife where were all the liberals screaming no blood for oil?

I’d much rather listen to him lay out his case for why his basketball bracket is a disaster.

Mr. President, "What should Hillary tell our other friends in the Middle East?" asks the press.

"Just tell them I am bombed Gadaffi."

the burning question: What's next?

If not the destruction of Israel, then just another step in that direction. [along with the continued destruction of the 50 US States, with the elevation of the 57 islamic states]

And the MSM likely has its template already together.... “President Obama showed his astounding brilliance once again as he shared his plans for Libya with an adoring nation...”

an answer to the burning question: What's next?

It doesn't matter to the sheeple. They just want to watch and hear and adore him.

He'd better not go more than 90 minutes....I don't want him to cut in on the season finale of "19 Kids and Counting".

It's Duggar time, after all.

“O”, coping a plea to the American people over this last and most dismal performance... is like watching a guy, caught dead to rights with the big blond next door, trying to make it up to his angry wife.

Much as I'd like to see “O” sizzle on the griddle for this, I REALLY can't stomach his shtick!!! I won't be tuned in. You guys here can fill me in, tomorrow.

I suggest following the live thread that no doubt will be here. Those are informative, fun and you don’t have to look at or hear The One.

Odds are he’ll spend half the time talking about Libya and the other half re-selling the Obamacare debacle on its 1-year anniversary.

The case for war is very simple.

1 There is a civil war going on in Libya and one side is likely to prevail over the other, thus "slaughter" is going to be occurring.

2 As various liberal bleedinhearts have already said, there's humanitarian concerns here. We have a duty to protect people from being slaughtered.

3 In liberal thought (as they are pleased to refer to it), a duty is the same as a right. (Similarly, a feeling is a thought is a philosophy.)

4 Under the liberals' "right to protect" philosophy, we are entitled, indeed obliged, to intercede militarily (and that of course includes invasion) in order to keep the peace and prevent casualties in a civil war...anywhere, per the philosophy of moral equivalency and national pan-exceptionalism.

Thus the 0bama Doctrine, essentially may be stated:

For any nation undergoing civil war, we are entitled to attack and invade it to keep the peace.
