A small businessman’s plea to Obama — you’re killing us
The Daily Caller ^ | 3-26-11 | Wayne Allyn Root

Posted on 03/29/2011 8:52:46 AM PDT by bigbob

I’ve started more than a dozen small businesses. I’ve paid payrolls, health insurance, payroll taxes, workers comp, and unemployment insurance for hundreds of employees.

Because of that, my employees were able to pay their mortgages, buy groceries, send their kids to college, and provide for their families. For one small business, I spent about $50 million on things like advertising, marketing, promotion, lawyers and accountants. That money enriched and employed thousands of others. And that’s just one small business. Think of the impact that thirty million small business owners have on the U.S. economy. No wonder we create 70% or more of America’s new jobs. Small business owners are a far more powerful economic force than Exxon, Microsoft, GE, or WalMart.

So why is Obama trying to tax us to death? Why do small business owners feel demonized and punished? Is it Obama’s goal to drive us out of business? Or is Obama simply inexperienced, incompetent and clueless about business and how it works?

Mug or rob me once? Maybe it’s ignorance or a mistake. Twice? It’s a pattern. But coming up with ways to rob me (Obama likes the word “redistribute”) and damage my businesses on a daily basis? It’s time to get the message. Whether by mistake or on purpose, Obama and the progressive left are damaging and destroying more small businesses by the day.

Is Obama out to destroy capitalism? Or is he just the most inexperienced, incompetent man to ever occupy the White House?

You may recognize the name of the author as a Libertarian VP candidate but he's hit the nail on the head in this article.

Obama loves to talk about "the recovery" but his policies are the #1 reason it's not happening.

I think Barry’s answer to the small business man is “I don’t care”.

This guy simply doesn't get it. It's government that creates jobs. Just ask Obama!

Both.

Exactly right. "Recovery" is not his goal.

His answer is “that’s my point”...

It’s much harder to control, via fascism, a bunch of small businesses than it is to control just a few huge ones (GE, GM, etc).

I found this from Newmax thought you might like to take a look..
“He comes up with ways to rob and destroy me and my businesses on a daily basis. It’s time to get the message. Without a doubt, Obama and the progressive left are the enemy of small business.”

“Or is he just the most inexperienced, incompetent man to ever occupy the White House?” Got it.

“I spent about $50 million on things like advertising,... And that’s just one small business.”

Pretty big small business....

Barry’s answer, if he were to be honest, would be “That’s the plan baby! The line for gubmint assistance forms to the LEFT!”

Stating the painfully obvious:
The number of people who voted Obama into power was larger than the number of those who voted for McCain (or those who voted against Obama rather than “for” McCain).

Based on the fact that there are 30 million small businesses, a significant portion of those who voted Obama into power must have been employees of small business owners (and/or their family/friends).

To a large extent, I believe this very same block of voters will play a significant role in determining whether Obama is re-elected to a second term, thereby rewarding him and his ilk for his anti-business policies.

Somehow, the candidate who opposes Obama in 2012 must get the message out to this group of voters:

1. If you are unemployed, vote against Obama.

2. If you are fortunate enough to have a job with a small business, and you want to avoid joining the ranks of the unemployed, vote against Obama.

3. If you are a family member or friend of those in the above two groups, and you want your loved one to have a job or keep a job, vote against Obama in 2012.

I realize that conventional political “wisdom” would say that a candidate must offer voters reasons to vote FOR him/her.

However, in this economic climate the winning message could be to convince voters who mindlessly voted Obama into power of one thing: the country is worse off now than it was before Obama... ergo, to vote FOR one thing: FOR a a regime change unless you would like more of the same for another four years.

“It’s much harder to control, via fascism, a bunch of small businesses than it is to control just a few huge ones (GE, GM, etc).”

So right. They finally regulated me out after 17 years I closed up shop last June. Between the insane regs and the additional licensing fees and education fees it just got to be overwhelming.

Same deal with small banks. They are trying get rid of the small banks because its easier to control 4-5 big banks and they want all the lending being done through these few banks.

Thanks, nice to see Mr. Root’s message is getting out there.

Since Obama is the enemy of small business, and since small business is the key to employment and economic recovery - well, you do the math...

I feel more demonized and punished by state and local regulations than by Obama.

I feel more demonized and punished by the big banks - which damaged the entire system of business credit to bail out their own speculative ventures in 2008 - than I do by Obama.

I feel more demonized and punished by Republicans - who are supposed to be the path of business but seem more interested in promoting "me-too" social welfare schemes - than I do by Obama.

I feel more demonized and punished by some local MSM addicted citizens - who wonder why I am "so rich" while they don't have easy corporate jobs any more - than I do by Obama.

Ultimately, Obama is just a symptom of a miseducated society. Attacking the symptom doesn't address the underlying problem.
