To figure out the different countries who have a role to play we need to start at the beginning with the Table of Nations in Genesis 10:2. This is where we first see these names appear.

Many ancient sources have clearly identified “Magog” as referring to the “Scythians” which were the ancestors of the Russians.

One of the earliest references to Magog was by Hesiod, “the father of Greek didactic poetry” who identified Magog with the Scythians and southern Russia in the 7th century B.C. Hesiod was a contemporary of Ezekiel.

In the 5th century B.C. Herodotus of Harlicarnassus, known as “Father of History” wrote extensively about the the Scythians, and how they terrorized the southern steepes of Russia from the 10th century B.C. to the 3rd Century B.C.

“No one confronting them can escape on foot, and if they wish not to be discovered it is impossible to engage with them. The reason is that they do not build towns or fortresses, but all of them are mounted archers and carry their homes with them... How can they fail to be invincible, and immune from attack?” - Herodotus, 5th century B.C.
Another well known source is Josephus Flavius, who records that the Magogians were called “Scythians” by the Greeks.

“Magog founded the Magogians, thus named after him, but who were by the Greeks called Scythians.” “But even the Scythians, who delight in murdering people and are little better than wild beasts, nevertheless think it their duty to uphold their national customs.” - Josephus Flavius, 1st century A.D.

Philo, is another in the 1st century who identifies Magog with southern Russia.

The Great Wall of China, in an 8th century reference, was called: Sud Yagog et Magog “The Rampart of Gog and Magog.”

The Moslems refer to Gog and Magog as Vadjudj wa madjudj in the Koran.

“Herodotus recounts many bizarre and savage practices of the descendants of Magog known as the Scythians: they drank the blood of the first enemy killed; they carried the heads of their victims to their chiefs; they scalped their enemies and used their scalps as “napkins”; they used the skins of their victims to cover their quivers; they drank from the skulls of their victims; they practiced blood brotherhood by drinking each other’s blood mixed with wine. The Scythians “bathed” in the vapor from heated hemp seeds. When their king died they sacrificed one of his concubines and several servants . After a year, they commemorated his death by sacrificing fifty servants and fifty horses. ... Rough bunch, these Scyths.”

The tortuous path from the horseback archery of the early Scyths to the nuclear missles of the Russian Federation includes many centuries of turbulent history. The various descendents of Magog terrorized the southern steepes of Russia from the Ukraine to the Great Wall of China.” (The Magog Invasion - Chuck Missler - pg 30-31)

In the New Testament the word Scythian occurs once. Paul is stressing the point that even people with the most diverse backgrounds can still be one in Christ.

“Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.” Colossians 3:11 Ancient authorities clearly identify the Scythians as the ancestors of the present day Russians.
However, even without that information. The identity of Magog is not too difficult to figure out. In Ezekiel 38:15, it says: “And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee ...” The “north parts” is literally the “extreme, or uttermost” parts of the north.

DONALD TRUMP:
Well, if I ran, I’d have no choice. I would take her on. I like her, but I’d take her on.

&&&&

One of the recent interviewers of Trump asked him if he would live in the White House if he was elected, and he gave the longest pause I have heard him use in any interview for any other question. That told me that he has not thought through entirely what it would mean to him to actually Be the President. Right now he is addressing ills of the country, as he sees them.

I find it very encouraging that he knows Mark Burnett well, who knows Sarah well. Very encouraging.

Re Sarah’s Madison speech:

I listened to the 15 minute video and except for the very end, her pitch was much better modulated than in the past. But when I heard clips of the speech on tv and radio, the pitch of every quote was higher than on the video.

A bit of “editing” by the soundmen on state-controlled media??

Trump showed me he is wrong for the fight when he said he will “Seek to run as an independent” if he doesn’t get the Rep. nomination.
Just like an independent (Ross Perot) took votes from Republicans & Clinton was elected.
We don’t need Trump for other reasons too.

Her politics are wonderful but in watching the speech, too often she sounded screechy and that’s a real shame.

I happen to disagree with your statement. That is her voice. She was using her voice in a “rallying the troops” mode. She was speaking with passion and emotion for what she believes and against that which is bad for her Country. When she gets passionate her voice is beautiful not screechy!

She is just as effective as that Evil Community organizer, Obama, when he is delivering a speech to his bussed in union Thugs and stirring up the anger in them, just so he can bask in the adulation they give him.

I guess you think she should just stand there and deliver a rousing speech in a sweet monotone voice. Boring! She used the perfect voice when she growled out the word "girl" in her in her “Fight like a girrrl” phrase.

She is never trite, always some striking phrase and/or image. “Death Panels” is still around to give the enemy fits. And not just memorable. They have the ring of truth.

...............buzz!............you make several GREAT points!

I, for one, appreciate you joining those of us on FR that try to steadfastly respond and rebutt the liberals trolling on FR with their transparent hatred of all things Sarah!

You would think that some day one of these trolls would establish for themselves an ounce of credibility by just acknowledging Sarah’s courage for climbing into the arena each day and the fact that she is the one, not them sitting at home on their keyboard, that is walking out on that stage, largely un-protected so far, with Giffords in her mind. Were I Todd and Chuck, and mom and daughters and sons, my heart would stop every time she walked out there!

First, please don't tell me what I think. I happen to speak from thirty years' experience in media. If you do too, that's great.

I think she could benefit from a speech coach. I understand the need to 'be yourself' when you speak and if you read my full comment you would see that I had no argument with the content. I just wish she had a better speaking voice. That doesn't mean monotone, as you implied.

If you've ever done public speaking, as I have, you'd know that when you try to force your voice you can run into trouble. Her voice is thin. That's her only issue and as I said, I hope it doesn't cost her. I can imagine lightweights like Tina Fey parodying her and doing real damage among people who aren't as politically sophisticated as those on this site.

...............I think most Freepers are simply so glad to have someone like Sarah courageously fighting for us “in the arena” that ANY criticism is, at first blush, met with some hostility.

Second, I also think that most of us who support Sarah have one thing that we love the most about her and that is that largely she just does not give a damn what ANYBODY thinks about her political positions, her clothes, her family, her daughters, her speech, her voice, what she eats, what she reads, Todd or anything else.................NO, basically, she is just going to be HERSELF which includes NOT holding up a finger into the wind and then staking a position! Bottom line: She clearly believes that “If being myself gets me elected FINE ! If not, FINE too!” We like that!
