If they throw Weiner under the bus, they are admitting that some standards of behavior exist. Can’t have that, because the next “unacceptable behavior” could be their own.
But, the majority of people recognize what is “written on their hearts” and tell them that what Weiner did is deplorable.
They threw Weiner to the ground so they could use him to stand on, looking taller that way.
